Date:

Sunday, 11 November 2012

Location:

Dru Point, Margate, Tasmania

Registration closes on:

Saturday, 10 November 2012 at 6:30 PM - (GMT+10:00) Hobart

Registration is at 8am, the briefing at 8.50, and departure at about 9am. Tinderbox riders should start finishing from about 12 pm, while the longer Channel riders finish between about 2 pm and 5 pm.

A briefing before the ride gives route directions and reminders that we are riding on public roads and subject to all normal road rules. Each rider receives a map and instructions. A number of directional signs mark the routes. The roads are not closed to cars, but most roads have either little traffic or wide shoulders. Great care is needed crossing the major roads in a couple of places.

Our police permit requires every rider to have a rear red flashing light which must be turned on in the event of inclement weather.

For safety reasons the rides may be cancelled if weather conditions are very poor (thick fog and/or strong winds and/or heavy rain.) On the evening and early morning prior to the event, the go-ahead status will be displayed on the Bicycle Tasmania website: www.biketas.org.au
