Welcome to the 2023 ACT Primary Schools Orienteering Championships

The event will be held at  Barrenjoey Peninsula on Wednesday 22 November 2023.

Entries are open to all ACT Primary School students in years 3 - 6.

Parents/Carers/Teachers MUST remain at the event with the child/children in their care for the DURATION OF THE EVENT. Children must not be left unsupervised at the event. Orienteering ACT is not responsible for your child during the event. 

Students can elect to compete  either Individually or in Pairs.

Pairs consist of a team of 2 students of any gender, but must be representing the same school and fall within the same age category (either 10 and under, or 11 and over).

Individual categories include:

  - Girls 9 years (born in 2014 or later)

  - Girls 10 years (born in 2013)

  - Girls 11 years (born in 2012)

  - Girls 12 years (born in 2011 or earlier)

  - Boys 9 years (born in 2014 or later)

  - Boys 10 years (born in 2013)

  - Boys 11 years (born in 2012)

  - Boys 12 years (born in 2011 or earlier)

Pairs categories include:

  - 10 years and under pairs (born in 2013 or later)
  - 11 years and over pairs (born in 2012 or earlier)

Age groups are determined by the age at 31 December 2023.

Courses for the 9 and 10 years age-groups, and Pairs10 are very easy standard. 
Courses for the 11 and 12 years age-groups and Pairs11+ are easy standard. 

ENTRY FEES: $15 individual competitor, or $30 per pair.


How to enter the ACT Primary Schools Championships

To enter as an individual you will need your name, date of birth, school name, a valid email address, and a Visa or MasterCard.  Individuals should ignore questions 2-5 in the Pairs questions section of the entry form.

If entering as a pair, you will require the name, date of birth, school name and valid email address for both competitors. You only need to submit ONE ENTRY FOR EACH PAIR: enter the name of the first member of the pair, and then in the special questions, you enter the details of the second member of the pair.

The event is being held at Barrenjoey Peninsula, near National Rock Garden, off Lady Denman Drive.

Dangers 
By entering you agree that you are aware that like other bush sports there are inherent dangers in orienteering. It is possible to become unsure of your location during this event.
