The experienced trainers from BLUE MOUNTAINS FITNESS have teamed up again with THE BODY MECHANIC. We align our BMF UTA Training Runs with THE LOCKER ROOM UTA Base Training Plans (Beginner/Intermediate/Advance) and the Event Specific UTA11, UTA22, UTA50 and UTA100 Race Training Plans. This run lines up with the long run of The Locker Room UTA22, UTA50 and UTA100 Programs.

BLUE MOUNTAINS FITNESS is one of only a few companies with a National Parks and Wildlife ECO PASS licence to carry out run training on the Ultra Trail Australia course. We have been training runners to complete the arduous UTA course for the last 12 years. We have highly experienced trainers who know the trails better than most. Remember we are fully National Parks Eco Pass licensed and fully insured.
WHY? This is a perfect training run to get a look at the tough leg of the UTA50 nd UTA100 from Scenic World to Queen Victoria Hospital. It's a great way to see where you are at with your training. It's also good stair training for the UTA22.
THE COURSE. With the announcement by UTA of the confirmed 2023 courses we will do the UTA50 Leg 1 course from SW to QV. The extra km runners will do the 4km start loop from Scenic World up Cliff Drive and back to Scenic World.
START. Scenic World
FINISH. Queen Victoria Hospital
CAR SHUTTLES. The start and finish points are 22km away from each other so we need to get you to the start and you run to the finish. You can organize with your friends or family to get dropped off at SW and picked up at QVH if you like. Or we will organize car shuttles.
Option 1 - Get dropped off by friends and family at SW by 7:45am for the 8am start.
Option 2 - Meet us at Queen Victoria Hospital at 7.15am to 7.30am for a lift to the start at Scenic World.
GEAR. We will be using this as a race day prep run and ask you to bring the UTA22 Mandatory gear - https://uta.knack.com/ultra-trail-australia#gear-check-list-uta22/
TIME. The time taken to do his run will depend on which group you start with and the distance you want to run. It will be between 3 and 5 hours
Pace Group Option 1 - The Turtles - This group is for the slower walker/joggers and starts at 8.00am.
Pace Group Option 2 - The Hares - Faster fitter runners will give the Turtles a head start. They will complete the run in 3 to 4 hours. Start time 8.30am. This is also a good look to see what the pace is like and you can opt to change pace groups if needed.
Pace Group Option 3 - The Hares Plus Extra KM - Meet at 8am. 4km of the start loop on Cliff Drive. Join the Hares at 8.30am for the Turtles chase down and the standard 22km to QVH.
NUTRITION. Please bring enough fuel and hydration for this amount of time. There will be 600ml per participant stashed on route in case you need it. Please take at least 2 litres of hydration.
INFO SHEET. A full information sheet will be sent to all participants prior to the training day.
