Event Cancellation Announcement 28 September 2022.
Challenge Family, along with the team at Challenge Shepparton, have made the difficult decision to cancel Challenge Shepparton on Sunday, 22nd January 2023, due to the event being financially unviable with the projected level of registrations. While this was a tough decision to make, it was a necessary one, with the knock-on effect of low registrations over the last couple of years due to the global situation.
Challenge Shepparton is an event rich in history, spanning over 20 years in the Shepparton community. However, after a turbulent three years of COVID postponements, along with a number of uncertainties including inconsistent event dates, we cannot find a way to hold this event in 2023.
Those who have already registered will be issued with full refunds.
We are currently working behind the scenes with our major event partner, Greater Shepparton City Council, to bring Challenge Shepparton back in 2024. Please stay tuned for further announcements regarding an event date.
Thank you to all those who have supported Challenge Shepparton over the years, from participants, triathlon clubs, event partners, volunteers, spectators, to the local community in Shepparton, who have welcomed the event with open arms every year.
We apologise for the disappointment this has caused and wish you luck in your training and triathlon pursuits and very much hope to see you back on the start line in Shepparton in 2024.
