Dear Roo Run Entrants,
Firstly, we’d like to say welcome back! After a break of nearly two years, we can't wait to have you all back in Anglesea for what has become one of the most cherished events on the Surf Coast. The Roo Run provides something for everyone from the young to the old, elite runners to casual walkers; but what makes it really special is the sense of fun that people getting whilst enjoying our coastline. None of this is possible without you, the people who bring the vibe and spirit that is at the core of the event.
All your favourite events will still be run such as the 8km, 4km and Grommets Gallop. Special events like the 2xRoo (combined time of 8km and 4km events) and Surf n Turf (Combined time of 8km Roo Run and 1.2km Rock2Ramp swim) are once again on the agenda.
For obvious reasons, this year’s event will look a little different. For most of the year we thought the event would have to again be cancelled, so our preparations have been severely hampered. However, once we received notice that we could proceed, we were determined to put some sort of Roo Run in place.
The biggest changes are that we will require everyone 16 yrs. and over to be fully vaccinated and QR Coding will be mandatory at the event site. Due to the late notice, we are unable to provide T-shirts this year or race packs, but we will make it up to you next year. We have not increased any of our pricing. All grommets will still receive a medal and a sausage (somethings you just can’t change). We will be starting the events in waves and we will provide more information closer to race day.
So again, welcome back and thanks for your continued support of the Roo Run and the Anglesea community groups that benefit from your entries. We look forward to seeing you at our new clubrooms and cheering you on as you hit the trails.
