2 WEEKS TO ULTRA TRAIL AUSTRALIA!

Perfect run for those wanting to see the UTA11 course, get some final stairs training done or just taper off nicely for the big day in two weeks!

The experienced trainers from BLUE MOUNTAINS FITNESS have teamed up again with THE BODY MECHANIC. We align our BMF UTA Training Runs with THE LOCKER ROOM UTA Base Training Plans (Beginner/Intermediate/Advance) and the Event Specific UTA11, UTA22, UTA50 and UTA100 Race Training Plans.

This run aligns perfectly with Week 14 of The Locker Room UTA22/50/100 programs.

The 2022 course will be the same used for this years event. It was an exciting course with plenty of ups and downs and some technical stuff thrown in. Come and run the 11km event course with the experienced  Run Guides and Run Trainers from Blue Mountains Fitness!

BLUE MOUNTAINS FITNESS is one of only a few companies with a National Parks and Wildlife ECO PASS licence to carry out run training on the Ultra Trail Australia course. We have been training runners to complete the arduous UTA course since 2011. We have highly experienced trainers who know the trails better than most. We are licensed and insured to carry out this training within the National Park.

WHY? This is a great training run to get a look at the UTA11 course or see where you are at with your training. The Run trainers at BMF have a wealth of experience to pass on - race prep, race gear, training and race nutrition, race strategy. pacing and info on the course. This is also a great training run to do if you are at the start of your UTA22 or UTA50 training.

THE COURSEStart and Finish at Scenic World. Run up Cliff Drive and out onto Narrow for a quick out and back which includes a few sneaky hills, including the 'concrete hill'! Descend the tricky Golden Stairs and then the technical terrain of 'The Landslide' before the fun part -  Furber Stairs!

PACE GROUP. We'll have 2 Pace Groups - The mighty TURTLES and THE HARES.

GEAR. We will be using this as a race day prep run and ask you to bring the UTA11 Mandatory gear.

START TIME. 9.30am - Turtles pace group will start first at 9.30am. Hares will also start at 9.30am but do a little bit extra giving the Turtles a head start.

FINISH TIME. We expect to be finish in 2 to 3 hours. 

The Hares will chase the Turtles group. When the two groups meet runners can choose what group they are in and finish the run.

NUTRITION. Please bring enough fuel and hydration for this amount of time.

MINIMUM AGE. We have a minimum age of 11 on this particular training run. If your child has been running a while and is under 11 please email us to discuss whether it would be a suitable run to take them on. The minimum age for the UTA11 race is 12 years old in May 2022.

INFO SHEET. A full information sheet will be sent to all participants prior to the training day.
This will include meeting points, training course map, PDF Map link, instructions etc.

FEES. The fees for this event are:
UTA11 - $40 p
lus a small booking fee if you book through Register Now.
