The Waterous Trail on Foot (WTF) is run on 4WD tracks, the King Jarrah Loop, Bibbulmun Track and on the Munda Biddi Trail. This includes sections of road shared with vehicles. Runners need to be aware that there are no road closures and vehicles have right of way.
There are large sections where runners will need to be self-sufficient between drink stations. This will mean runners will require at least 1 litre of water to be carried between aid stations. Slower runners will require more.
All 100 mile runners will require a headlamp as they will most likely be running in the dark for at least some part of their race.
WTF100 runners may have a pacer after 50 miles. The pacer may be changed but pacers running the full 50 miles will not be credited with a 50 mile finish.
It is a requirement that all runners carry a mobile phone throughout the race. Please be aware that reception is patchy if not with the Telstra network.
Weather conditions can be variable at this time of year. Runners should bring gloves, a beanie, running tights or thermals and a jacket for night time and possible wet weather running. Runners will need to carry adequate nutrition supplies between aid stations.
100 miles is a fairly long way so runners should have completed 50Miles in an official event previously before entering. Other endurance events such as Comrades and Ironman Triathlon will be given consideration as qualifiers.
There is no qualifier for the 50 Mile event although slower runners should make sure they have a headlamp and warm clothes available if they wish to continue beyond dark.
