A team based Orienteering challenge for Primary School Aged Children
This is a 4 week orienteering relay.
TWO GIRLS and TWO BOYS make up a team.
This orienteering challenge is for students in Years 3 to 6.
However, if younger students have experience in orienteering they may enter.
It is held over four Thursday mornings before school 7.45am to approx. 8.45am - to get those bodies and brains going!
(7:40am the first week for extra briefing.)
Dates and Locations for Spring SC-ORE 2021 are:
21 October Maribyrnong Primary School (Kaleen)
28 Octobter St Monica's Primary School (Evatt)
4 November Miles Franklin Primary School (Evatt)
11 November Haig Park
(Spare date is 18 November)
Cost
$28 for the 4 week series (+3% Register Now Booking Fee).
This includes pre-event instructional advice, full colour maps, provision of individual timing devices, full electronic course verification systems, online results and free entry to 2 public events upon completion of the SC-ORE school orienteering series.
Parents/guardians are asked to help out in some way to make this a success.
Naming of Teams
Please follow the following convention for school team names.:
School name A, School name B, School name C, School name D, School name E, School name F, etc
EG Campbell A, Campbell B and so on.
PLEASE DO NOT USE NUMBERS or team names. Simply use school name and a letter of the alphabet. This makes it easier for our computer entry set up. (If you can not provide a letter, put School X and the names of teammates in the comment field.)
Incomplete Teams
So you haven't yet got a full team. Don't panic!
If incomplete teams register, participants may still compete BUT may be considered "unofficial" for the purpose of the competition. The organiser will endeavour to make up complete teams even if these are mixed school teams.
Risks
By entering this event you are accepting that you have read and understood the General Warning Waiver that will appear on the next page. Photos for publicity will be taken. This may include aerial photography. Some photos taken during the SC-ORE events will be used for promotional purposes, others may be available for sale online.

During the ongoing covid-19 pandemic we have seen the rules and regulations around number of participants, social distance etc change several times. Due to these changing conditions we do not know what the rules and regulations will be during the Spring SC-ORE series, but we will monitor and follow the applicable rules and regulations at each time, and expect all participants and parents/carers to do the same.
