NSWFA Level 1 Coaching Course

Welcome to the Online Level 1 Coaching Course provided by NSWFA!

This is a pilot AFF online program offered through the NSW Fencing Association.

The course is focused towards individual and team coaching for beginner to intermediate fencers. After the completion of this course, a coach is expected to be able to perform basic coaching and fencing club management, including organising and managing daily training sessions for groups and individuals, as well as providing basic one on one lessons. The Level 1 coaching course provides the necessary qualification for coaches to open and run a fencing club. 

Over the duration of this course, participants will:

  • Learn general sports and fencing coaching principles
  • Learn weapon specific coaching principles for group and one on one settings
  • Be required to pass a written and video exam on the relevant material
