Welcome to the 2020-21 Triathlon WA Event Application Form. This form will allow you to apply for events that you wish to be sanctioned and advertised by Triathlon WA, as well as applying for State Championship and / or Triathlete of the Year status for selected event disciplines.
2020-21 will see a revised Triathlete of the Year State Series format which is expected to consist of between 7-10 events. The series will consist of a mix of State Championship events as well as additional events which are consistent with the quality, size and profile required of an event to be included as part of the Triathlete of the Year series.
Triathlon WA understands that while avoiding clashes between events on a particular date is extremely difficult, we will be consulting with Race Directors to limit the overlap of events as much as possible. Further to this, as a general principle, Triathlon WA will not promote events that clashes with select State Championship event. We encourage all Race Directors to engage with Triathlon WA as soon as possible to discuss your proposed event dates so that we can avoid date clashes as much as possible.
2020-21 Event Application Fee $100 per event listed (including GST).
The fee entitles you to the following:
- Event information included in TWA online calendar on TWA webpage & TA Website
- Four event promotion opportunities through TWA social media pages - combination of Facebook, and Instagram
- Event information included in coming events on front page of TWA website
- Event information promoted and emailed to all TWA members in the month prior to the event
It is a requirement of making an application for inclusion on the calendar that the Race Director takes all reasonable steps to ensure that the event is subsequently sanctioned. Failure to gain sanctioning approval will require a further payment to TWA of $500 to cover the administration costs of advising TWA members of the changed status of the event.
It is a requirement that the race organizers are currently in good financial standing with Triathlon Australia and Triathlon WA in relation to any fees due for current season events.
Please note there are minimum requirements for event inclusion on the TWA race calendar which are outlined in the document ‘Requirements for Sanctioned Triathlon WA Calendar Races. Further to this, Race Directors who are successful in being selected to host a State Championship or Triathlete of the Year event will be required to enter into an Event Agreement with Triathlon WA which outlines TWA’s obligations to the Race Director as well as the Race Directors requirements for hosting a State Championship or Triathlete of the Year event.
