SSAA Victoria has developed a Commercial Kangaroo Harvest Proficiency course for professional shooters for the purpose of harvesting kangaroos for commercial use.
The course is a full day course with a fee of $220 incl.GST.
The course is held at SSAA Victoria’s Eagle Park range, Big Game Rifle Club, Gifkins Road, Little River on February the 18th, 2020.
Training will commence at 9am with an expected completion time of 4:30pm.
(Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to make sure we get started on time).
The course has practical and theory components and will cover all basic aspects of firearm use. The theory component is hands-on and covers all you should know prior to using a firearm.
The course will also cover shooting skills and techniques and post-shooting procedures including the skills and knowledge required to humanely harvest animals.
Participants will then have their skills assessed on the range under the supervision of two qualified assessors and a range officer.
We will provide ear and eye protection to all participants on the day, but you are welcome to bring your own. This is mandatory during the practical component of the course. Participants should wear enclosed footwear.
Participants are required to provide their own firearm and preferred ammunition with a minimum calibre of .204 Ruger.
The practical assessment consists of 5 shots out of 5, in a 3 inch (7.5cm) ring at 100m.
