Please read and acknowledge the following before submitting your membership application:-

  1. I/We hereby apply for Membership of Geraldton Junior & Senior Motocross Club Inc and submit this application with the appropriate fee/s for Committee consideration.
  2. I/We agree to comply with the Geraldton Junior & Senior Motocross Club Inc Racing and Riding Rules, Acknowledgement of  Waiver, and any general guidelines and expectations of the Club and act in a fair and responsible manner at all times.
  3. I/We understand that if I compete at race meetings conducted by Geraldton Junior & Senior Motocross Club Inc my results, details and photos may appear on the club website, social media pages, local media and motorbike publications. I also understand that no royalty, fee or other compensation shall become payable to me by reason of such use. Please notify the Club in writing if you do not consent for these details to be published.

 2020 Riding and Racing Rules and Regulations

  1. No membership - NO RIDE. One day memberships are available and can be purchased prior to riding at the track.
  2. You must have your membership card or your confirmation email for day membership with you as proof.
  3. You MUST fill out the practice sign on book before you commence riding. No junior or senior riders are allowed on the track at the same time. Division 1 and Division 2 50cc riders are not permitted to ride on the track at the same time as any other bike capacity/class. Members are to ensure all riders at the track have completed sign on before riding. Parent/Guardian must also sign on if riders are under the age of 18.
  4. Although all precautions will be taken, the Club accepts no responsibility for injury or death of any person. You ride at your own risk.
  5. Each rider must be medically and physically fit and able to participate in riding practice/events. You will immediately notify the club in writing of any change to your fitness and ability to participate. You understand and accept the Club will continue to rely upon this information as evidence of your fitness and ability to participate. If you are transported by ambulance to hospital from the Club’s track, the Club will require a medical certificate before you can ride at the track again.
  6. Ambulance cover is essential. No liability accepted by the Club.
  7. Riding hours are between 7am and 6pm 7 days a week. Strictly no riding at night.
  8. Riding on the track is in a clockwise direction.
  9. A sight lap must be undertaken by each rider, before riding, to ensure the track is safe and there is no debris or damage to the track. Riding is strictly at your own risk.
  10. Only exit the track using the pit return lane, unless injured. On Club Event days, if a rider exits the track before the finish of their race it is their responsibility to notify the event day scorer immediately.
  11. Be aware that the track is closed for riding from 6pm Thursday night until the end of the last race on a Club Event weekend.
  12. Busy Bees – All members are expected to volunteer for the Club. This can be done at Club busy bees at the track, helping with the day to day running of the Club, or fundraising and promotional activities. Failure to contribute may result in a fine or deduction of the members race points, whichever the Committee deem suitable for the individual.
  13. Bikes are to be ridden at walking pace in the pit area. No riding of unregistered bikes outside of the track and pit areas.
  14. On designated Club Event days no vehicle is to move in the pit area from the start of Rider’s Briefing until end of the last race. If you need to move your vehicle permission can be obtained from the Event Steward.
  15. No cutting the track (except the 50cc Division 1 and 2 cut off sections). Part laps are not permitted.
  16. No persons are to be crossing the track while riding is in progress.
  17. No persons are permitted to be in the track area during an event, with the exception of event Officials and Flag Marshalls.
  18. Never ride at the track on your own. There MUST be a person over the age of 18 supervising at all times.
  19. All persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.
  20. Children are to be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times in and outside of pit area.
  21. No riding when the temperature is above 38 degrees.
  22. If there is a fire/vehicle movement ban in place there is to be no riding at the track.
  23. Please keep the gates locked at all times.
  24. No camping is permitted unless with Committee approval. Strictly no fires without a permit.

Members using the track must comply with the following safety requirements and at an organised Club Event submit their bike and safety equipment to be examined and approved by the Event Scrutineer for that day:

  • handle bar ends are covered and plugged – no handle bar metal visible from ends
  • handle bars must be equipped with a protection pad on the cross bar
  • bike levers are complete with ball ends and no sharp edges or broken
  • front and rear brakes must be fitted and working
  • throttle controls must be self-closing
  • ·no registration plates to be affixed to the bike
  • cameras may be fitted to the motorcycle provided they are securely mounted. Helmet cameras are accepted, adhesively attached only.
  • centre and side stands to be removed (except 50cc Division 1 class)
  • glass headlights to be covered or taped
  • ·no loose, sharp or damaged plastics, parts or equipment attached to the bike
  • spokes are all attached and tight
  • wheel bearings are in satisfactory condition
  • bikes must be listed on the attached approved machine list (refer Clause 28)
  • all helmets must be in good condition, not damaged or cracked, and must fit correctly
  • soles of boots must be intact
  • bikes to have front and side plates with identifying figures clearly visible at a distance of 20 metres
  • the onus is on the rider to ensure his/her bike is safe to ride at an event
  • the Event Scrutineer and Event Officials reserve the right to refuse a bike due to safety concerns for the rider or other participants, officials and spectators. Random checks will be conducted
  • Each rider must wear –
    • correctly fitting helmet with a visor
    • full length shirt/jersey which must be a snug fit and provide abrasion protection;
    • pants that cover the rider from the top of the boots to the waist and must be non-combustible;
    • commercially manufactured upper body front and back protection (Juniors Only);
    • motocross boots;
    • gloves made of leather or other material of similar durability;
    • goggles (tear off goggles are permitted); and
    • body jewellery is to be removed or securely covered with tape.

26. At a Club Event please follow all track flags and signals (displayed at the track)

27. All riders intending to participate at a Club Event must be able to provide a Flag Marshall (over the age of 18) for each Event day.

28. Event Day Time Schedule (these times are an estimate only and subject to change without notice)

7:30am - Bike & Safety Equipment Inspection and Event Sign-On
8:15am - Bike & Safety Equipment Inspection and Event Sign-On Closes (no late entries accepted)
8:30am - Riders Briefing - compulsory for all riders, parents/guardians, Event Officials and Flag Marshalls
9:00am - Practice
9:30am - First Race

Practice, race order, format, laps and classes may alter at each Club Event and final decision rests with the Event Officials.

29. Club Event Day Fees
- $25 per rider for Junior and Senior
- $10 per rider for Division 1, 50cc demo class

There will be no points rounds dropped from the total tally.

 

31. Please ensure all rubbish is placed in the bins provided or take your rubbish with you.

32. You must give way to all native animals.

33. There is to be no abusive or antisocial behavior between members or officials both at the track and afterwards including on social media, otherwise your membership may be revoked. At an organised Club Event penalties may be imposed by the Event Steward for breach of this rule, ie reprimand or warning ‘fine’, exclusion from the event.

34. No consumption of alcohol or taking of illicit drugs whilst riding or riding under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

35. No alcohol in the pit area or track area during a Club Event.

36. No smoking in the pit area or track area during a Club Event.

37. Closed footwear must be worn in the pit area and track area during a Club Event.

38. Push bikes and motorbikes are not permitted in the canteen area or on the grassed area at any time.

39. Report track and/or building damage to a Committee member immediately. Respect the Club’s property – incidents of vandalism will not be tolerated.

40. Please report any suspicious people or behavior to a Committee member immediately.

41. Dogs are prohibited in Geraldton Junior and Senior Motocross Club grounds at all times, with the exception of registered Guide Dogs.

42. Membership is subject to the Committee approval.

43. On a non-Club Event day if a non-member is in the company of a member it is the member’s responsibility to ensure that the non-member obtains a one day membership otherwise the member risks having their membership revoked along with the non-member being asked to leave and denied membership.

44. No person/s is to modify the track without consulting the Club President.

45. Club membership is non-refundable and non-transferable.
