MT SOLITARY ULTRA PAIRS

Welcome and take the time to read the information provided at https://www.runningwildnsw.com/mt-solitary-ultra/

It details both Information Pack and Mandatory gear that will assist with your race registration and provide important information about our event.

Email us at Running Wild (runningwildnsw@gmail.com) if your questions are not fully answered here or you require further clarification.

All entries are subject to approval by the committee and they reserve the right to reject any entry.

The Course:

The 45km course is run over rugged and at times isolated terrain. There are severe elevation changes that will test the climbing capacity of runners. There are rocky ascents and descents that will require caution and an ability of runners to use their hands to manoeuvre over rocks and rough terrain.

Any runner that attempts the Mt. Solitary traverse must bear in mind there are no exit points other than the course itself, nor any way for emergency services to quickly reach injured runners. Any injured runner will have to hike off Mt. Solitary to obtain medical assistance. We strongly recommend that this course is not attempted by someone transitioning to trail running.

Qualification Standard:

We want to see you finish within the nine-hour time limit and that is why we have a qualifier. Please refer to information pack for qualifiers

There will be time cuts on the course designed to have all 45 km runners completed within a nine (9) hour cut off. Whilst this time sounds generous for a 45 km course, the terrain and in particular, the traverse over Mt. Solitary will slow most runners. The minimum standards that are in place have been calculated to ensure that all entrants have the best possible chance of completing the 45 km course within the nine-hour time limit. Any entrant should be in similar physical condition as to the qualifier they are using.

Ensure you provide a web link of evidence to your qualifying time; just don’t provide a link to the event website and expect us to find it your result as we will regard your qualifier as invalid.

Mandatory Equipment:

Please note if you do not have mandatory gear on the day you will not be allowed to race

Refer to the following link on our Mt Solitary page for a detailed list of the mandatory gear you will be required to carry during the event - https://www.runningwildnsw.com/mt-solitary-ultra/
