PADDLE - SPIN - RUN THE MURRAY

The 2019 Murray Quad will be held on Saturday the 30th of November and Sunday the 1st of December, on and around Australia’s famous Murray River which is home to one of the world’s oldest and longest kayak race the Massive Murray Paddle (Murray Marathon), this event promises to be an exciting, action packed 2 days of entertainment, racing, sportsmanship and wholesome family fun while raising funds for the event charity partner HeartKids.

Participants will use their choice of human powered water transport (kayak, canoe, rowing boat or SUP) to navigate their way down the Mighty Murray River, test their bike riding skills in the safety of the Balance Spin Studio and run through the picturesque Golf Course located alongside the famed Lake Mulwala water’s edge, each event held separately. The Murray Quad is a unique event that offers participants 3 completely different type of activities that can be done individually, combine any 2 of the 3 events, a dry tri (swim replaced with a paddle) or as a relay team.

  • Individual a person does one of the events

Once on the water paddlers will need to be self-sufficient with food and water as required, with the opportunity to replenish at the checkpoint / relay change over at Smithers Beach which is also the start of the half distance race. From here paddlers will twist and turn through the Murray River Red Gum Forest passing some of Australia’s best inland beaches to arrive at Tocumwal Town Beach.
