This is the application process for nominating to compete in either an International Event (non-Designated) or an International Event (Other) as defined by the AFF Selection Policy for fencers who are not members of the National Squad. Athletes must apply to the AFF to be considered for selection on a non-priority basis for these events. A separate application must be submitted for each event.
Eligibility
A current list of HPC Designated Events can be found here: https://www.ausfencing.org/wp-content/uploads/Designated-Events-2022.pdf
Timing
Athletes must complete and submit this nomination form at least 40 days prior to the start of the relevant event.
International fencing licence
Nominating athletes are required to apply and pay for any requisite international licence e.g. EFC, FCA or FIE. Refer to the Licences page on the AFF website here.
Personal nominations only
Athletes must undertake this nomination process themselves. The only exception is for minors, in which case the process must be completed by a parent or guardian.
Fees
The fee paid here is an administration fee charged by the AFF for managing your nomination.
Nomination fees are non-refundable.
There may be an additional entry fee, typically paid at the event at the time of registration, which is the fencer’s responsibility.
Event organisers might charge additional fees for late entry and/or non-appearance, both of which are the responsibility of the fencer.
Confirmation of entry
Athletes should check the relevant website (fie.org, eurofencing.info or www.asianfencing.com) three days after submitting a nomination here to confirm that they have been entered for the correct event and weapon. If the entry is incorrect (or missing) please mail admin.hpc@fencing.org.au immediately.
