The Santa Sabina College representative dance program is open to all students in Years 1-12 in 2019. Students who participate in the program will have regular training sessions, holiday training sessions and compulsory dance eisteddfod performances throughout Terms 1-4. Please find all information related to the program below.
Teams and Genres
Primary Students - Students in Years 1-6 can sign up for the infants (K-2) or the Primary (3-6) dance team. Please note that their may be more than one Primary dance team if numbers allow.
Secondary Students - Students in Years 7-12 can sign up to trial for as many of the following teams as they choose:
-
Hip Hop
-
Jazz
-
Tap
-
Contemporary
-
Musical Theatre
Please note that for secondary students our top team in each genre has a capped limit of 16 students. As this is a representative team, students are chosen based on dancing ability. If numbers allow we will create a second team for all genres where possible. Later in the year we will be seeking expressions of interest from students who wish to participate in our folk dance team.

Cost
Each participating dance student is required to pay a one off fee of $500 for the entire years program. This fee covers the cost of costumes, coaches and eisteddfod entries. Students will be required to purchase their own dance tights, jazz shoes, makeup and hair styling products for the season. Information regarding these items will be sent out once teams, choreography, music and costumes are finalised. Payment details will be sent out following the trials and team selections have been made.
Communication
All information regarding dance can be accessed at the Veritas Online Dance page HERE. Information will also be regularly updated on the Santa Sabina College app. Parents and students will be emailed directly should there be a last minute training cancellation or change.
Absences
Should you be unable to attend training you must send an email to b.williams@ssc.nsw.edu.au with your reason for absence.
We hope your child finds the Santa Sabina College representative dance program a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
