The 2018 Open and Veteran State Championships will be held on Saturday, 3rd November at Yeronga State High School. Veteran championships will be held concurrently with the Open event and is open to any fencer older than 40 years of age. Additional rounds or matches may be fenced depending on entries.

 

Entry Fees

Standard (If paid before 30 October)                                                  $30.00

Late (From 31 October - 2 November)                                               $40.00

On-the-Day Registration (3 November)                                             $50.00

 

All fencers will need to be members of the Queensland Fencing Association in order to register (although Interstate or International competitors are welcome - please contact admin@qfa.org.au to register).

 

To participate in multiple events, please complete a separate registration for each event.

 

The tentative schedule is as follows:


Event Checkin Times:

Open Men's Epee - 7:30 am
Open Women's Epee - 7:30 am
Open Women's Sabre - 11:00 am
Open Men's Sabre - 12:00 pm
Open Women's Foil - 1:00 pm
Open Men's Foil - 1:30 pm

*Where there are insufficient entries events may be postponed or cancelled.

** Veterans events may run as combined gender; Veteran events may follow immediately after the Open event

*** A final schedule will be released closer to the event date. Removal of this note indicates the final schedule has been released.
 

Fencers need to be there at least 30 minutes before the start time to get ready. Competitions are fenced using full electric equipment, including conductive foil masks. Medalists will need a club tracksuit jacket, club shirt or fencing whites for presentations.

 

All competitors are expected to assist with venue setup and pack down.

 

Referees

 

Referee nominations for this event are made through the registration process.

 

Competitors will be required to assist with refereeing of poules.

 

Referees are required to be at the event no later than 1/2hr prior to the event start.

 

Nominations for refereeing close 1 November and a schedule will be forwarded after the event schedule is finalized.

 

Note: Nominating availability for a competition does not mean that referees will be automatically assigned to the competition. Final assignments will be based on the requirements of the competition and at the discretion of the Competition Management Team.
