The 7th annual Cruise Whitsundays Airlie Beach Running Festival 2019 will be held on the weekend of 20th and 21st July, a beautiful time of the year to be running in Airlie Beach. It is a great opportunity to extend your stay and holiday in paradise and explore all that The Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef has to offer. The course runs along the foreshore from Port of Airlie to Cannonvale beach.
Saturday 20 July - Race Precinct (Airlie Beach Saturday markets)
- 7am Airlie Beach Parkrun - Abell Point Marina South near Bohemian Raw Cafe
- 2-6pm Airlie Beach Running Festival Registration/Late entries/Race Pack collection
Sunday 21 July - Race Precinct (Airlie Beach Saturday markets)
- 6.00am START - ANQ Championship Airlie Beach Marathon (ages 18 plus)
- 6.30am START – Cruise Whitsundays Half Marathon including Relay Teams (ages 16 plus)
- 7.00am START – 10km Fun Run (ages 15 plus)
- 9.00am START – 5km Fun Run and Corporate Team Challenge (ages 10 plus)
- 10.00am START – Whitsunday Times 2km Junior Dash & Primary School Challenge (ages 6-12 years)
- 10.30am START - 1km Kids Run/Walk (aged 6 and under)
- 11.00am Presentations
- 12.00pm END of all races
NOTE:
- No prams in 42, 21,10 and 5 km races as the route is congested in places.
- No pets allowed as the course goes through areas where pets are banned by Council.
ATHLETICS NORTH QLD HALF MARATHON SERIES AND NORTH QLD MARATHON CHAMPIONSHIP
The Airlie Beach Marathon is again the North Queensland Marathon Championship.
The Cruise Whitsundays Half Marathon will earn you points in the Athletics North Queensland Half Marathon Series.
