INDEMNITY

MOTORCYCLE RACING IS DANGEROUS AND CAN RESULT IN INJURY TO COMPETITORS AND DAMAGE TO MACHINERY

These supplementary regulations and attached entry form are important documents, which affect your legal rights and obligations. Read these documents carefully and do not sign the ENTRY FORM for this competition unless you are completely satisfied that you understand the contents and agree to be bound by them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1)    ANNOUNCEMENT
Lightweight Motorcycle Club Inc, known as the Promoter, will conduct the meeting in accordance with the General Competition Rules of Motorcycling Australia (GCR’s), these supplementary regulations & any additions or amendments approved by Motorcycling Western Australia.

 

2)    JURISDICTION
The above mentioned meeting has been authorized by Motorcycling Western Australia which has issued a Motorcycling Western Australia permit for a Open event and is open to all Junior & Senior National Competition Licence holders for all competitive classes and Recreational License for 50cc Non-competitive class only.

 

3)    OFFICIALS
Officials are appointed with the approval of Motorcycling Western Australia. Control will be under the Clerk of Course with the supervision from the Steward/s of the meeting who reserve the right to alter, postpone or cancel all or part of the event program if required, without notice. The Steward is appointed by Motorcycling Western Australia.

Age difference of four (4) years or greater will be permitted.  Classes may be combined or cancelled according to entries received.

Senior Shootout will be by random draw at the promoters discretion. No change of bike allowed during the shootout.

 

6)    MINIMUM / MAXIMUM RIDERS

The maximum number of entries that will be accepted per class is 15 riders. The minimum number of entries to constitute a

class is 10. Final numbers to establish or constitute a class will be taken from the results from bona fide starters at practice.

 

 

7)    ENTRY FEES AND CONDITIONS

CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES
Entries will officially close on 24th November 2018. Late Entries may be accepted up to 28th November 2018 however entries received after the official closing date may not be entered into the program.  The only late entries that will be accepted are where there are available places on the grid.   

ENTRY FEES
No transponder hire or admin fees are included.  All riders will be entitled to 2 free adult entries to be used prior to pits closing at 3:00pm through the competitor gate. No passes will be mailed.

Sponsors names will be accepted. Sponsors will be shown next to a rider’s name in the program at the promoter’s discretion.

Cancellation: - Prior to the closing date refunds will be permitted minus a $10.00 administration fee. After the closing date refunds will be considered on a    case by case basis to the promoter.

NOMINATION PREFERENCE
Priority for all gates is to 1st entry riders so please ensure that you select your first and additional class nominations carefully.  Riders nominating for an additional class be advised that at the promoters discretion your nomination may be cancelled to allow for a 1st class rider nomination and your entry fee for this nomination refunded.

8)    TRANSPONDERS

Transponders will be compulsory at this meeting, except for Demo riders. Transponders can be purchased through My Laps, or hired for $15. A $5 admin fee will apply for those supplying their own transponder.

 

It is compulsory to have purchased and fitted a transponder bracket prior to this meeting. Transponder brackets are available for purchase for $15 from the Transponder Operator at the meeting or from MWA. You must supply your own cable ties.

 

Conditions:

·         When transponder is transferred to the competitor, it is the competitor’s responsibility or any repairs or replacement cost of the transmitter if lost or damaged.

·         It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure the transponder is mounted correctly, and securely to prevent damage from fouling other components on the machine.

·         It is the competitor’s responsibility transponders are returned in good condition at the end of the event, or if due to machine failure or injury before the machine leaves the pit areas. Competitors WILL be fined $50 for not returning transponders on the day.

·         Transponders must be returned to the designated person as advised at the riders briefing.

·         For transponders not returned on the same day, or returned to the designated person, in addition to the $50 fee, the hirer is responsible for the transponder until it arrives back at the MWA office.  This includes whilst in transit with Australia Post and by Courier.  No excuse will be entertained for non-delivery.  It is recommended transponders be hand delivered.

·         The transponders must be fitted for all practice sessions.

 

NOTE:  The onus is on guardian/rider to ensure transponders are on machine prior to each event;

 

9)    MACHINE EXAMINATION

Machine Examination: 1:30pm to 3:00pm

Your machine will have some form of identifier placed on it to provide evidence of Machine Examination

All competitors must present themselves with their Parent/Guardian, MA licence, MA Log Book, proof of current club membership for one event licence holders, Boots, Body Armour and Helmet for inspection.  Extra machine will be allowed but the machine must go through machine examination in the time specified.

 

ALL MACHINES MUST CONFORM TO THE GCR’s. 

 

10)  RACE CONDITIONS

The promoter reserves the right to postpone, cancel or change the program if necessary with Motorcycling Western Australia approval prior to the meeting or with permission from the Steward on the day of the meeting.

 

RIDERS MEETING

A riders meeting will be held 3:15pm All riders must attend.

 

PRACTICE

Practice will commence at 3.30pm on the day for all capacity classes. Minimum 2 laps, time permitting 3 laps at the discretion of the Clerk of Course.

 

START METHOD

Self-penalising drop gates. Clutch start.

15 second board displayed to all riders for full 15 seconds

The Gate will drop 5 to 10 seconds after the 5 second board is shown

 

Riders are not permitted on the start grid until authorised by the officials.
GRID SELECTION: Moto 1 – Rider to select a peg from the bucket. Peg 1 = first selection of all gates, peg 25 = 25th selection.

GRID SELECTION: Remaining heats – Riders will select their gate as per the finishing order of the previous heat i.e. 1st place = 1st selection of all gates, 25th placing = 25th selection of remaining gates.

Only 1 assistant per rider 16 years and over permitted in the starting area.

 

FINISH METHOD

A one-lap board will be displayed to the riders indicating when one lap remains. The chequered flag is displayed to signal the race is finished.

CHANGE OF MACHINE
A rider is allowed to change bikes right up to the start of the race as long as both bikes are eligible for the class, designated to the one rider, identical numbers and have passed scrutineering, with exception to the shootout as above.

No notification is required to the Clerk of Course in the above case but if a rider wishes to use another competitors bike in place of his own then formal notification to the Clerk of Course at least 10 min prior to the race in which the substitution is to be made, with exception to the shootout as above.



 

PROTESTS AND COMPLAINTS

‘On track’ complaints and protests may be initiated by the competitor only. Should a junior competitor have a complaint regarding an incident ‘on track’, then this needs to be conveyed by the competitor only to the official stationed at the area designated by the purple flag. The competitor must return immediately to the pits, then present their complaint to the Clerk of Course. Should the complaint not be resolved to the satisfaction of the competitor, the competitor may then make a formal protest to the Steward by submitting a protest form to the Clerk of Course. This process applies to incidents ‘on track’.

Highest Overall Points – 1 x Free Membership for the Lightweight Motorcycle Club for 2019 (excludes any busy bee fees, key fees, practice fees and pit shed fees) This is awarded to the highest points scorer across the Junior classes.  Points are from one class only and will not be combined for riders who are dual classing.

All riders in the 50cc Demo 4-u9 years non-competitive class will receive a participation award.

Seniors

1st Place          Trophy + $350
2nd Place         Trophy + $250
3rd Place         Trophy + $150

Prize Money will only be paid where a minimum of 10 bona fide entries

12)  VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS
Entrants are required to provide a volunteer to assist with the management of the meet including but not limited to Flag Marshalling.  A roster will be drawn up prior to the event and emailed to each Participant. The Clerk of Course reserves the right to withdraw any rider of the event if the nominated person refuses to carry out such duties without showing just cause. Persons required to do flag duties must sign on at machine examination. If you do not sign on your rider will be excluded from practice and competition unless just cause can be proven to the Clerk of Course of the day.

 

13)  FIRST AID

First Aid personnel will be in attendance. It is a condition of entry that First Aid MUST be accepted wherever deemed necessary by the attending first aides. The Clerk of Course of the day has the right to refuse further racing of a rider if first aide requirements are not adhered to.

 

14)  INJURIES
Riders who have been transported to hospital or referred to a Doctor at a prior Motorcycling WA permitted event must obtain a medical clearance and forward a copy to Motorcycling WA stating fit for Motorcycle activity before participating in the event. Riders who have been transported to hospital or referred to a Doctor during the event must obtain a medical clearance and submit a copy to the Race Secretary before being allowed to continue competing at the event.

 

15)  AMBULANCE COVER

All riders are reminded that ambulance cover is compulsory as a condition of your licence. Cover must be maintained for the

duration of your licence. 

 

16)  GENERAL RULES

 

·         No alcoholic beverages allowed in pits or racing circuit and must only be consumed in the licenced area.

·         NO BYO alcohol. Vehicles may be checked on entrance

·         There will be no riding of bikes other than on the track.

·         Machines must be pushed to and from vehicles and in and out of the pits. Engine may be running to assist

·         Dogs will not be permitted (except guide dogs).

·         Enclosed footwear must be worn in the pits at all times.

·         NO pushbikes, mini-bikes, recreational quads or scooters permitted within the pits.

 

 

 

17)  NO HASSLE POLICY

Any rider or entrant or person associated with the rider or entrant shall conduct themselves in an orderly manner. A rider shall be responsible for his own conduct and that of any person with whom he is associated. Anyone who abuses or threatens personally or physically any official or any other person present at the event shall lie deemed to be in Breach of this rule.

The Clerk of Course for a breach of this rule may impose PENALTIES on the day of this meeting i.e.

·           *Reprimand or warning

·           *Fine

·           *Expulsion from the meeting

·           *All breaches will be reported to MWA for possible further action

 

18)  DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY

All competitors and officials are advised that random drug and alcohol testing may take place during the competition. Refer to MA Website for details on the Safety Policy – Drug and Alcohol testing.

 

19)  ANTI-DOPING POLICY

All competitors and officials are advised that drug testing may take place in accordance with MA’s Anti-Doping Policy, as carried out by the ASDA. Refer to MA Website for details.

 

20)  RIGHT TO USE IMAGE

It is a condition of entry that consent is given by the entrant/rider and/or parent/guardian for all photographs and electronic images (including moving images) that may be taken during the event by or on behalf of the Promoter, or with permission of the Promoter. All such images are the property of the Promoter and will only be used in accordance with the Motorcycling Australia Member Protection Policy and for the purposes of promotional or other purposes without further consent being required.
