INDEMNITY

MOTORCYCLE RACING IS DANGEROUS AND CAN RESULT IN INJURY TO COMPETITORS AND DAMAGE TO MACHINERY.

These supplementary regulations and entry form are important documents, which affect your legal rights and obligations. Read these documents carefully and do not agree to terms and conditions of entry for this competition unless you are completely satisfied that you understand the contentsand agree to be bound by them.

 

     

1. ANNOUNCEMENT & JURISDICTION

 The Wanneroo Junior Motocross Club  (WJMC), hereafter called the Promoter will conduct the meeting in accordance with the GENERAL COMPETITION RULES OF MOTORCYCLING AUSTRALIA (GCR’S) (MOM’s), these supplementary regulations and any additions or amendments approved by MWA.   Entry is open for all competitors who hold Junior National Licence with the exception of the Under 19’s Class a Senior National Licence is required. To be eligible to participate in the 50cc Demo (Non-Competitive) riders must hold a Recreational Licence, no rider that holds a competition licence can participate in this class.

 The track will close Midnight Sunday prior to the event.

 

2. OFFICIALS

 Officials are appointed with the approval of MWA.  Control will be under the Clerk Of Course with the supervision from the Steward/s of the meeting who reserve the right to alter, postpone or cancel all or part of the event program if required, without notice.

MINIMUM/MAXIMUM RIDERS

The maximum number of entries that will be accepted per class will be 40 riders for two wheeler classes and 20 riders for Quad classes.  The minimum number of entries to constitute a class is 5 riders.  Classes may be altered to suit entries received

 

WAMX MAKE SMOKING HISTORY GIRLS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Minimum Numbers

A minimum of 5 solos for the Girls Classes
must be bona fide starters for points to be accumulated towards the Championship.

This minimum will be determined by the number of bona fide riders starting practice.

Determination of Final Numbers:

Final numbers to establish or constitute a class will be taken from the results from bona fide starters at practice.

A maximum number of starters will be forty (40) for solo riders Should there be more than forty (40) entries for solo riders and twenty (20) for quad riders, qualifying will be included into the day’s race programme.

 GRADED RACING

The Junior Grading Committee may grade all riders and grading may be undertaken at this event.  Riders will be notified in due course.

Plate colours will apply to all capacity classes.  Side plates must be the same colour as front plates.  Riders must display a back number in contrasting colours at all times (refer GCR’s).

 Riders must have had their:

1.      4th birthday to compete on 50cc demonstration machines

2.     7th birthday to compete on 50cc Auto machines.

3.     7th birthday to compete on 65cc machines.

4.     7th birthday to compete on 60cc-90cc 2st/85cc-110cc 4st Limited Quad machines.

5.     8th birthday to compete on 60cc-90cc 2st/85cc-125cc 4st Competition Quad machines.

6.     9th birthday to compete on 85cc/150cc 4st standard wheel machines.

7.     12th birthday to compete on 85cc/150cc 4st big wheel machines.

8.     12th birthday to compete on 200cc 2st/250cc 4st Quad machines.

9.     13th birthday to compete on 125cc/ 150cc 2st and 250cc 4st machines.

4. ENTRY FEES

Entries are now open and will close Saturday 5th August 2018, late entries may be taken up to the 8th August, however a Late Entry Fee of $50 will apply and compulsory flags.  In the case of postponement or abandonment of the meeting, all or any part of the entry fee may be retained by the WJMC, if such retention is approved by MWA.

Only entries received through Register Now and accompanied by the correct fee will be accepted.  Refunds will be given to riders not able to attend the meeting due to injury/Medical reasons only.  Notice of 48 hours will need to be given in writing and emailed to the Race Secretary with a medical certificate.  $5.00 Admin fee will be charged.

Payment and entries through Register Now only. Receipts will be emailed to you from Register Now.

A rider is allowed to change bikes right up to the start of the race as long as both bikes are eligible for the class, designated to the one rider, identical numbers and have passed machine examination. No notification is required to the Clerk of Course in the above case, but if a rider wishes to use another competitors bike in place of his own then formal notification to the Clerk of Course at least 10 min prior to the race in which the substitution is to be made.

Sponsors names will be accepted, sponsors will be shown next to a riders name in a programme at the promoter’s discretion. Due to space restrictions some sponsors may not be listed.

5. TRANSPONDERS

Transponders will be compulsory at this meeting, except for Demo riders. Transponders can be purchased through My Laps, or hired for $15. A $5 admin fee will apply for those supplying their own transponder. It is compulsory to have purchased and fitted a transponder bracket prior to this meeting.  Transponder brackets are available for purchase for $15 from the Transponder Operator at the meeting or from MWA. You must supply your own cable ties.

 Conditions:

·         When transponder is transferred to the competitor, it is the competitor’s responsibility or any repairs or replacement cost of the transmitter if lost or damaged.

·         It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure the transponder is mounted correctly, and securely to prevent damage from fouling other components on the machine.

·         It is the competitor’s responsibility transponders are returned in good condition at the end of the event, or if due to machine failure or injury before the machine leaves the pit areas.

·         Competitors WILL be fined $50 for not returning transponders on the day.

·         Transponders must be returned to the designated person as advised at the riders briefing.

·         For transponders not returned on the same day, or returned to the designated person, in addition to the $50 fee, the hirer is responsible for the transponder until it arrives back at the MWA office.  This includes whilst in transit with Australia Post and by Courier.  No excuse will be entertained for non-delivery.  It is recommended transponders be hand delivered.

·         The transponders must be fitted for all practice sessions.

 NOTE:  The onus is on guardian/rider to ensure transponders are on machine prior to each event;

 

6. MEDICAL SERVICES

Medic Aid WA personnel will be in attendance.  It is a condition of entry that First Aid MUST be accepted wherever deemed necessary by the attending first aides.  The Clerk of Course has the right to refuse further racing of a rider if first aid requirements are not adhered to.

Injuries – Medical Certificates. 

Any rider transported via Ambulance or private vehicle will require a medical certificate stating they are fit to participate in Motorcycle Sport.  The Steward will collect information from the injury reports and relay this to the MWA office where it will be recorded that you require a certificate before you can compete in any further events.   This information will be mailed out to all clubs and event promoters.


7. MACHINE EXAMINATION

Machine Examining: 6:00am to 7.15am sharp with riders brief at 7.30am

All riders to be signed on by a parent before proceeding to scrutineering.  Signed in riders will be given a wrist band once licence and log book checked.

Competitors are to present themselves with their MA Licence, Logbook, Helmet, Boots, commercially manufactured upper body armour (front and back) with correct bike numbers upon it, or if armour is worn underneath Jersey, with correct race number printed on Jersey for inspection.  Machine Identification number(s) on bike and rider as per GCR’s.  Helmet must be on rider’s head by the time they reach the machine examiner.  Competitors must place a Motorcycling WA supplied logo on the front number plate of their machine.

As per the GCR 11.13.2 Helmet Cameras and 11.13.2.1 Cameras may be fitted to the motorcycle provided they are securely mounted. Helmet cameras are not permitted are not allowed unless the camera is integrated into the helmet, by design of the manufacturer. Camera mounts on helmets are not allowed.

Tear-off’s are banned for all Off Road related disciplines as per Appendix A GCR 7.2.0.1, however as per Appendix A GCR 7.2.0.2 Exemptions are available for Junior, Senior and Classic Motocross events by application of the Track Licensee to the Relevant Controlling Body. a) Automatic exemptions will apply for Supercross events held at temporary tracks and venues.

**NOTE: Tear offs are allowed at WJMC

ALL MACHINES MUST CONFORM TO THE GENERAL COMPETITON RULES.  Machines may be measured; bore and stroke, and fuel samples taken at random.  The steward will be responsible for the decision to measure machines on the day.  Any machine may be measured at the request of the steward or under protest.  It is a condition of entry that all cost will be borne by the entrant for machines measured under the instruction of the Steward.

Noise testing will be conducted as per GCR 11.22 for Solos and GCR 14.12 for Quads.

8. RACE CONDITIONS

PRACTICE

Practice will commence no later than 7:45am on the day for all classes.  Minimum two (2) laps, time permitting with the exception of the WAMX Girls Championship Classes where three (3) laps will apply. 

START METHOD

Self-penalising drop gates. Clutch start.  15 second board displayed to all riders for full 15 seconds.

  • At the end of 15 sec a 5 sec board will be displayed.
  • The gate will drop between 5 and 10 seconds after the 5-sec board is shown.
     
    Riders to be in start gates for the next race as soon as practical.  Dead motors in the starting area. 

 

GATE POSITIONS

Gate positions will be drawn by ballot by the rider on the day for the 1st race only eg peg # 1 equals gate   #1. Gate position will then be determined for the following races by your previous race placement. DNF riders will have last gate pick in order of DNF.  Only authorised officials will be permitted on the starting line and only 1 assistant over 16 years of age per rider is permitted on the start line.

 
FINISHING

A one-lap board will be displayed to the riders indicating when one lap remains.  The chequered flag will b displayed to signal the race is finished.

            A competitor finishes and qualifies for inclusion in the results if the competitor;

            a) Completes not less than 50% of the race distance; and

            b) Is shown the chequered flag on crossing the finish line.

 

9. RACE CONDITIONS

‘On track’ complaints and protests may be initiated by the competitor only. Should a competitor have a complaint regarding an incident ‘on track’, then this needs to be conveyed by the COMPETITOR ONLY to the official stationed at the area designated by the purple flag. The competitor must return immediately to the pits, then present their complaint to the Clerk of Course. Should the complaint not be resolved to the satisfaction of the competitor, the competitor may then make a formal protest to the Steward by submitting a protest form to the Clerk of Course. This process applies to incidents ‘on track’.  All other ‘off track’ incidents refer directly to          the Clerk of Course. Refer GCR’s.

11. AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded in all classes based on entries received.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd for A, B and C grade in each class will be awarded where five (5) or more entries received.  If there are less than 5, then the classes may be combined with the approval of the Steward.  When 2 classes are combined (due to low number of entries) prizes are awarded at the discretion of the promoter. There will be no A, B or C grade for U19’s and Quads. 50cc demo competitors ALL receive a participation award, all to be identical.

KTM Vouchers will be awarded to the overall winner from each competition class.

Trophy presentation will commence 30min after last event.

 

12. PARENT PARTICIPATION

Riders who intend to practice or participate must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who may be required to do flag duty if called upon to do so.  The steward(s) of the meeting will withdraw any rider from the event if the parent or guardian or nominated person refuses to carry out such duties without showing just cause.  NO FLAG MARSHAL – NO RIDING!!

FLAG MARSHAL DUTIES

Parents or guardians who are required to do flag duties must sign on at machine examination.  If you do not sign on, your rider will be excluded from practice and competition unless just cause can be proven to the Clerk of Course.  There will be two flag shifts, am and pm. (Flag changeover will be listed in program).

ALL Flag Marshals must attend the Flag Marshals Briefing at the scrutineering shed located in the pit area at 7:30am and Shift 1 will need to be in position at their allocated flag points immediately following the Riders’ Briefing.

ALL FLAG MARSHALS MUST REMAIN AT THEIR FLAG POINT UNTIL REPLACED BY THE NEXT SHIFT, OR UNTIL THE FINAL RACE HAS BEEN COMPLETED, IN THE CASE OF THE LAST SHIFT. FAILURE TO BE ON TIME WILL RESULT IN YOUR CHILD BEING EXCLUDED FROM THE REMAINDER OF THE EVENT.

Demo class parents will be required to sign on to assist when their child is on the track. All Flag Marshals must meet at the designated meeting place to be accounted for before proceeding to their marshalling positions. In the case where a marshalling duty is being shared by more than one person. All marshal’s must      sign on and ensure that they are wearing a reflective safety vest before proceeding out onto the track.

 

13. GENERAL RULES

·         No alcoholic beverages allowed in pits or racing circuit.

·         Open pits will run during this event, machines may be ridden from the pitting areas at slow walking pace, via the marked area, however once they are within the pit area they must walk their bikes to the starting area. Machines should be pushed to and from vehicles and in and around the pits.  Engine may be running to assist.

·         Dogs will not be permitted (except guide dogs).

·         Enclosed footwear must be worn in the pits and on the circuit at all times.

·         No pit bikes / bicycles / scooters

·         This is a licenced event – NO BYO alcohol.

·         No Smoking is permitted at this event.

15. ANTI-DOPING POLICY

·         All competitors and officials are advised that drug testing may take place in accordance with MA’s Anti-Doping Policy, as carried out by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority.  Refer to MA website for details.

·         If any doubts exist over banned substances it is recommended competitors contact the Drugs in Sport Hotline, ph: 1800 020 506.  When drug testing takes place, the payment of prizemoney may be delayed at Motorcycling WA’s discretion until the results of the tests are known

 

16. ALCOHOL TESTING

 All competitors and officials are advised that random breath-testing may take place during the competition in accordance with the Motorcycling Australia Drug and Alcohol Safety Policy.


17. CODE OF CONDUCT

All competitors, officials and parents are reminded of MA’s Code of Conduct contained within MA’s Member Protection Regulations, found at www.ma.org.au, which is a guide to appropriate behaviour at all motorcycle race meetings. This Code of Conduct applies to this Meeting and will be enforced.


18. NO HASSLE POLICY

Any rider or entrant or person associated with the rider or entrant shall conduct themselves in an orderly manner. A rider shall be responsible for his own conduct and for that of any person with whom he is associated. Anyone who abuses or threatens verbally or physically any official or any other person present at the event shall be deemed to be in Breach of this rule.

The No Hassle Policy applies to the Race Secretary and other volunteers of the Promoter and subsequent to the event. A No Tolerance approach will be applied for any breach in this regard, with Exclusion as the penalty.

Penalties: will be imposed by the steward for a breach of this rule on the day i.e. * Reprimand or warning * Fine * Exclusion from the meeting

All breaches will be reported to M.W.A. for possible further action.


19. RIGHT TO USE IMAGE

It is a condition of entry that consent is given by the entrant/rider and/or parent/guardian for all photographs and electronic images (including moving images) that may be taken during the event by or on behalf of the Promoter, or with permission of the Promoter.  All such images are the property of the Promoter and will only be used in accordance with the Motorcycling Australia Member Protection Policy.
