Purpose of Event and Minimum Fundraising
The aim of this event is to provide opportunity for a great value, fun bike ride and to fundraise for CanTeen  (The Australian Organisation for Young People Living with Cancer). Participants will be required to raise a MINIMUM of $200 each (in addition to registration) and this should be paid on or by the start of the event. Participants should be committed to raising additional amounts through sponsorship or donation.

Registration

The Nomination fee for the LifeCycle for CanTeen [OnRoad] (non-competitive) bike ride is $325. No refunds for cancellations after 31 December 2018. The number of riders is limited.

To complete this registration you will need Medicare, Private Health cover and doctor details, 2 emergency contacts and phone numbers, medication details. You will also be asked to predict which group you think you will ride in on day 1 (for our planning purposes) and should consult the merchandise sizing charts on the information sheet.

Registration discount.

The promotional codes for Catering Crew and Escort Teams will be only issued by the organisers. Please DO NOT register as crew (not a Rider) unless you are crew AND have been given a special promotional code. The fee for Junior riders (12-16) is $150 and a promotion code will be issued upon request.

Registration is not transferable

Registration includes agreeing to a waiver and providing personal information for safety purposes. Registration is for a specific person only and NOT TRANSFERABLE.

In the event we receive a cancellation from you, your place will be offered to the next person on the waiting list. If you give or sell your place to someone else that person will not be permitted to ride and will not be given a refund.

Refund / No Refund Policy

Until December 31, 2018 withdrawal will result In a $25 fee which includes the Register Now charge. After 31 December2018 there will be NO refund, but you will receive a tax receipt as a donation to CanTeen.

Photographs

Please notify the organisers if you do NOT wish to have your photograph used publicly.

Insurance and conditions - in conjunction with waiver

Riders are advised to obtain their own sickness and accident insurance in case of sickness, accident or injury enroute to/from or during the event. School students (who must be 14 years or over at the time of the event and have parental approval to attend) are advised that their school’s insurance may provide 24 hours a day, seven days a week cover at a nominal cost.

Nominees are responsible for their own state of health. The organisers of this event are not medically trained and have no specific ability or skills to professionally assess the health or physical ability of entrants. We recommend that nominees who do not engage in regular and strenuous physical activity seek the advice of their doctor before undertaking this ride.

Before, during and after the event photos of participants may be taken for promotional, media or record purposes. Unless accompanied by a letter specifically stating otherwise (and providing sufficient information to identify the participant) this nomination acts as permission for photos to be taken and used as indicated.

The onus is on each rider to have their bicycle safety checked AND in safe working order for the start of the ride.

 

RULES FOR RIDERS

  • No overtaking of support vehicles.
  • Riders must stay with chosen group and may only swap groups at allocated stops.
  • Riders must stop at amber/red traffic lights and at railway crossings when lights flash - even if this means splitting the pack.
  • Helmets must be worn and secured correctly.
  • Riders must ride in double or single file.
  • Use hand signals to let people behind you know what you’re doing, eg stopping.        
  • No riding on pedestrian footpaths or kerbing while in convoy, unless ordered to by support driver.
  • Ride together as a tight pack
  • Road traffic rules must be observed at all times.
  • While following behind support vehicles do not attempt to hold or touch any part of the vehicle - maintain at least 6m gap.
  • Riders must stop and get into a vehicle if ordered to do so by group leader or support driver.
