Tour de Trachyte

Hi Unfortunately, we have had to make the decision to cancel the inaugural Tour de Trachyte duathlon, rescheduled to take place next Saturday, February 16th. There are a number of factors but primarily, an existing safety issue that we feel we’re unable to resolve has led to the decision. The reason we postponed from last November was due to a specific location on the course that we felt would be unsafe or, at the very least, too difficult for the many novices originally registered to take part. With the weather we’ve had in the area over the last week, this same location is now worse and given that it’s passed through three times (legs 2, 3 and 4) we feel we have no option other than to cancel given the inconvenience the initial postponement caused. We will be adding the event to the calendar again for November (we believe this is the best time of year for the event in the area) and will amend the course to avoid the location that has impacted our attempts to run the Tour de Trachyte thus far.
