The BEACHRUNS@MISSION is supported by the CASSOWARY COAST INDEPENDENT NEWS. A weekly training program is published each Thursday from April 26.

The three beaches of Mission Beach comprise a firm stretch of sand 10.6km long and separated by two small creeks usually only ankle deep at this time of year.

The Half Marathon ($20) traverses the length of the beaches and return, while the 10K ($20) only crosses one shallow creek and the 5K ($5) does not cross any creeks. We endeavour to have a crossing to avoid wet shoes.

The event starts and finishes at Rotary Park, Wongaling and presentations will be held there after the event.

The Half Marathon starts at 2pm, the 10K at 3pm and the 5K at 3:30pm. 

There are prizes for winners in the longer events and for new overall record holders in the 10km and 21km races. There will be vouchers for the age division winners in the 5K and ribbons for all under 12 finishers. Under 12's are FREE in the 5km event and do not need to sign up here.

The MISSION BEACH COMMUNITY BANK CASSOWARY CUP allows teams of 2, 3 or 4 runners to complete the half marathon as a relay format. Compete for trophies in an all male, all female or mixed team. Get your mates together from schools, clubs, businesses and government bodies to form a team. Please wear the same team colour shirt.
