The aim of this 4 day [OffRoad] cycling event is to provide opportunity for a great value, fun bike ride and to fundraise for CanTeen (Young People Living with Cancer). Full nomination cost is $300.00 per rider and includes transport (for riders, luggage and bikes) between Kelmscott and each end of the ride, meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner, morning & afternoon tea) and camp facilities (byo tent etc).

This ride is open to only 70 riders including marshals.


A discount applies to crew - a special PROMOTIONAL CODE will be provided only to approved crew members. Crew members are not authorised to reveal the PROMOTIONAL CODE to others.

Riders under 16.
The [OffRoad] ride is intended for people with Mountain Bike Riding skills and the strength and endurance to spend hours in the saddle, riding long distances. We will under specific circumstances accept riders under 16. 

  1. Approval to register the rider (aged under 16) must be sought by the parent PRIOR to registration
  2. The parent or parents must vouch for their child's skills, strengths and endurance to participate alongside adults.
  3. The parent must be prepared to ride alongside their child or children during the event
  4. The registration fee for a Junior rider is $150, but parents will have to ask for a special promotion code prior to registration. 

Refund / No Refund Policy: Until August 31, withdrawal will result in a ($25) fee which includes the Register Now charge. After August 31 there will be NO refund, but you will receive a receipt as a donation to CanTeen.

Fundraising

Participants will be required to raise a MINIMUM of $200 each (in addition to Registration) and this should be paid on or by the start of the event. Participants should be committed to raising additional amounts through sponsorship or donation.

However, this minimum applies only once within a family group or a couple. Further, if you ride in both an OnRoad and OffRoad event within one year, the minimum applies only once for that year.

Rider Responsibilities
All riders ride at their own risk and subject to completion of this online registration including Ride Disclaimer & Consent (waiver), personal and medical details.

Riders are advised to obtain their own sickness and accident insurance in case of sickness, accident or injury en-route to/from or during the event. School students are advised that their school’s insurance may provide 24 hours a day, seven days a week cover at a nominal cost.

While the organisers will endeavour to meet any identified dietary requirements participants are reminded that we rely on the use of volunteers and donations (including foods / refreshments) and that appropriate foods may not be guaranteed.

Reasonable levels of fitness and skill are required to complete the ride comfortably. Nominees are responsible for their own state of health. The organisers of this event are not medically trained and have no specific ability or skills to professionally assess the health or physical ability of entrants. We recommend that nominees who do not engage in regular and strenuous physical activity seek the advice of their doctor before undertaking this ride.

The organisers reserve the right to make any changes in the interests of safety.

Before, during and after, the event photos of participants may be taken for promotional, media or record purposes. Unless accompanied by a letter specifically stating otherwise (and providing sufficient information to identify the participant) this nomination acts as permission for photos to be taken and used as indicated.

The onus is on each rider to have their bicycle safety checked AND in safe working order for the start of the ride.

 

2017 Route:

Day 1: Bus from Kelmscott to Tree Top Walk for lunch with option to watch the AFL grand final or walk the Tree Top Walk. Ride to Ayr Sailean, distance approximately 29km.

Day 2:To Denmark. Distance 55km

Day 3: To Torbay. Distance 49km

Day 4: To Albany, approx 31km. Bus return to Kelmscott by approx 7:30pm
