INDEMNITY
MOTORCYCLE RACING IS DANGEROUS AND CAN RESULT IN
INJURY TO COMPETITORS AND DAMAGE TO MACHINERY
These supplementary regulations and attached
entry form are important documents, which affect your legal rights and
obligations. Read these documents carefully and do not sign the ENTRY FORM
for this competition unless you are completely satisfied that you understand
the contents and agree to be bound by them.

1.
ANNOUNCEMENT &
JURISDICTION
The Wanneroo Junior Motocross Club Inc (WJMC),
hereafter called the Promoter will conduct the meeting in accordance with the General
Competition Rules of Motorcycling Australia (GCR’s), these supplementary
regulations and any additions or amendments approved by MWA. By
entering this meeting all parties agree to comply with these rules,
regulations, by-laws and instructions. This meeting will be open to all Annual
Licence holders and One event Licences will be available.
2.
OFFICIALS
Officials
are appointed with the approval of MWA. Control will be under the Clerk of
Course with the supervision from the Steward/s of the meeting who reserve the
right to alter, postpone or cancel all or part of the event program if
required, without notice.

to entries received, but scored separately.

4.
RIDING
NUMBERS
All seeded WA riders must ride with their allocated race
numbers. All number plates on all machines MUST comply with the GCRs
and must not contain any decals or advertising other than the required MA
decal.
5.
MINIMUM
/ MAXIMUM RIDERS
The
maximum number of entries that will be accepted per class is 40 riders except
Quads which shall be 20 as per GCR’s.
The minimum number of entries to constitute a class is 4 riders. Classes
may be altered and/or combined to suit entries received. (scored separately).
Should the minimum number of any class be insufficient, the
decision to run or cancel the class and re-distribute any awards and/or prize
money will be at the discretion of the Steward.
6.
ENTRY
FEES AND CONDITIONS
6.1 Closing
Date for Entries
Entries
must be received 7 days prior to the event (15th
October.) There will be NO ENTRIES
ON THE DAY.
If no
MWA Licence is held you can purchase a one event license for $90 but you must
hold a club membership for a WA Club- (WJMC will offer Back To Wanneroo One
Meeting Membership for a fee of $5, this is only valid for use at this event).
Junior
riders (under 16 years) must have a log book to demonstrate their level of
competency endorsement as the GCR's rule 3.8 through 3.8.0.10 to be eligible
for a One Meeting Licence.

6.3 Address For Entries
Entry's
to be completed on online via Register Now.
No entries will be available on the day.
7.
MACHINE EXAMINATION
Pits will open at 5:45am. Machine Examination from 6:00am to 7:15am. NO
MACHINES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS TIME, unless permission is given by the
Clerk of Course. Machines entered in the
competition must have successfully passed a machine examination prior to taking
part in practice, qualifying or racing.
All competitors must present themselves with
the appropriate MWA License, proof of current club membership and full riding
gear for inspection. All juniors must
show their log book. All machines must conform to the GCR’s.
Any machine not presented with all of the above
requirements will be rejected!
WJMC
have been granted an exemption by MWA to allow the use of tear-offs SUBJECT TO all riders, members and guest complying with WJMC’s
Tear-Off Waste Management Procedure, a copy of which is posted on WJMC website
and on pin-boards at the club and pits areas.
Helmet mounted Go-Pros are not allowed
to be used at practice or on competition days.
The Steward will be responsible for the
decision to measure machines that day.
Any machine may be measured at the request of the Steward or under protest

NOISE
TESTING
Noise
testing may take place at any time at the discretion of the Chief Scrutineer or
the Clerk of Course. Refer to GCR 12.10 for details
9.
TRANSPONDERS
Transponders
will be compulsory at this meeting, except for 50cc Demonstration Classes.
Transponders can be purchased through MWA, or hired for $15.00 ($10 hire fee
plus $5.00 Administration Fee) per day.
Riders with their own transponder will be charged the $5.00
Administration Fee only.
It is
compulsory to have purchased and fitted a transponder bracket prior to this
meeting. Transponder brackets are
available for purchase for $15.00 through MWA. You must supply your own cable ties.
Condition
of use:
Ø When a transponder is transferred to the competitor, it is the
competitor’s responsibility for any repairs or replacement cost of the
transmitter if damaged or lost.
Ø It is the competitor's responsibility to ensure the transponder is
mounted correctly and securely to prevent damage from fouling other components
on the machine.
Ø It is the competitor's responsibility to ensure transponders are
returned in good condition at the end of the event, or if due to machine
failure or injury before the machine leaves the pit area. Competitors WILL be fined $50 for not
returning transponders on the day.
Ø Transponders must be returned to the designated person or box as advised
at the riders briefing.
Ø For transponders not returned on the same day, or not returned to the
designated person, in addition to the $50 fee, the hirer is responsible for the
transponder until it arrives back at the MWA office. This includes while in
transit with Australia Post and by Courier. No excuse will be entertained for
non-delivery. It is recommended transponders be hand-delivered.
Ø Transponders must be fitted for all practice sessions.
NOTE:
The onus is on guardian/rider to ensure transponders are on machines prior to
each event.
10. CONDITIONS OF RACING
The
promoters reserve the right to postpone, cancel or change the program if
necessary with MWA approval prior to the meeting or with permission from the
Steward on the day of the meeting. Control will be under the Clerk Of Course
with supervision from the Steward
10.1 Riders
Meeting
A riders
meeting will be held 7.30am. All riders and parents must attend.
10.2 Practice
Practice
will commence immediately after Riders Meeting.
Riders will only have one (1) practice each, except for those riding two
(2) separate capacity machines or classes. Practice is 2 Laps for all classes if time
permits. Practice classes may be combined. Practice Starts will not be
permitted; riders must leave the track via the pit return or as directed by the
Clerk of Course.
10.3 Start
Method
Self-penalising
drop gates. Clutch start: -
A. 15 second board displayed to all riders for full 15 seconds
B. At the end of 15 seconds a 5-second board will be displayed.
C. The gate will drop between 5 and 10 seconds after the 5-second board is
shown.
Riders
to be in start gates for the next race as soon as practical and allowed by the
starter.
Engines
to be off in the starting area.
Gate
positions will be drawn by random peg pick by the rider on the day.
Each
rider can only have one support mechanic (over 16yrs) to assist on the starting
line prior to being asked to leave by the starter.
10.4 Finish Method
A
one-lap board will be displayed to the riders indicating when one lap remains.
The chequered flag is displayed to signal the race is finished.
10.5 Change of Machine
A rider
is allowed to change bikes right up to the start of the race as long as both
bikes are eligible for the class, designated to the one rider, identical
numbers and have passed machine examination. No notification is required to the Clerk of
Course in the above case, but if a rider wishes to use another competitors bike
in place of his own then formal notification to the Clerk of Course at least 10
minutes prior to the race in which the substitution is to be made.

10.6 Protests and Complaints
‘On
track’ complaints and protests may be initiated by the competitor only. Should
a competitor have a complaint regarding an incident ‘on track’, then this needs
to be conveyed by the competitor only to the official
stationed at the area designated by the purple flag. The competitor must return
immediately to the pits, then present their complaint to the Clerk of Course.
Should the complaint not be resolved to the satisfaction of the competitor, the
competitor may then make a formal protest to the Steward by submitting a
protest form to the Clerk of Course. This process applies to incidents ‘on
track’.
All other ‘off track’ incidents refer directly to
the Clerk of Course. Refer GCR’s.
11. AWARDS
Trophies
will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in
each class. Each rider in Demonstration class will receive a trophy for
participation.
12. FIRST AID
Medic
Aid personnel will be in attendance.
It is a
condition of entry that First Aid MUST be accepted wherever
deemed necessary by the attending first aid personnel. The Steward of the day
has the right to refuse further racing of a rider if first aid requirements are
not adhered to.
12.1 Injuries
Riders
transported to hospital must obtain a medical clearance which must be submitted
to MWA prior to participating at further race or practice meetings. It is
advised to carry a copy which may need to is to be produced on demand at the
next race meeting.
12.2 Ambulance Cover
All
riders are reminded that ambulance cover is compulsory as a condition of your
licence. Cover must be maintained for
the duration of your licence.
13. FLAGGING OBLIGATIONS
Riders
who intend to practice or participate must provide a volunteer to do flag
marshal duty if called upon to do so. For riders who cannot supply a flag marshal a $50 Flag Fee will apply to
be paid prior to event (optional item on registration via Register Now). The Steward of the meeting reserves
the right to withdraw any rider of the event if the parent or nominated person
refuses to carry out such duties without showing just cause. Parents/guardians or volunteers who are called upon to do flag duties
must sign on at machine examination. If
you do not sign on or provide a flaggy, your rider will be excluded from practice
and competition unless just cause can be proven to the Steward of the day.
14. CROSSING THE CIRCUIT
Competitors are reminded that crossing the circuit during practice or
racing is strictly prohibited, unless permission has been given by the Clerk of
Course.
15. ANTI-DOPING POLICY
All competitors and officials are advised that drug testing may take
place in accordance with MA’s Anti-Doping Policy, as carried out by the
Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority. Refer to GCR 11 for details.
If any
doubts exist over banned substances it is recommended competitors contact the
Drugs in Sport Hotline, tel 1800 020 506. When drug testing takes place,
AWARDS may be delayed at MWA’s discretion until the results of the tests are
known.
16. ALCOHOL TESTING PROCEDURES
All competitors and officials are advised that random breath-testing may
take place during the competition. Refer to GCR 11 for details.
17. CODE OF CONDUCT
All competitors, officials and parents are
reminded of MA’s Code of Conduct contained within MA’s Member Protection
Regulations, found at www.ma.org.au, or Appendix 3 of the
GCR, which is a guide to appropriate behaviour at all motorcycle race meetings.
This Code of Conduct applies to this Meeting and will be enforced, as to do the
rules and obligation noted within the ‘Participant
Declaration’ which shall be read in
conjunction with these Supplementary Regulations.
18. NO HASSLE POLICY
Any rider or entrant or person
associated with the rider or entrant shall conduct themselves in an orderly
manner. A rider shall be responsible for his own conduct and for that of any
person with whom he is associated. Anyone who abuses or threatens verbally or
physically any official or any other person present at the event shall be
deemed to be in Breach of this rule.
The No Hassle Policy applies to the Race Secretary and other volunteers of the
Promoter and subsequent to the event. A No Tolerance approach will be applied
for any breach in this regard, with Exclusion as the penalty.
Penalties: will be imposed by the
steward for a breach of this rule on the day i.e. * Reprimand or warning * Fine
* Exclusion from the meeting. All breaches will be reported to M.W.A. for possible
further action.
19. GENERAL RULES
Ø No alcoholic beverages
allowed in pits or racing circuit.
Ø Dogs will not be
permitted (except guide dogs).
Ø Enclosed footwear must
be worn in the pits and on the circuit at all times.
Ø No pit bikes / bicycles
/ scooters
Ø This is a licenced
event – NO BYO alcohol.
Ø No Smoking is permitted
at this event.
Ø Open Pits will be in effect for the day, Pitting can be done in the
usual pit area at the centre of the track or in the designated area at the west
of the car park.
20. RIGHT TO USE IMAGE
It is a
condition of entry that consent is given by the entrant/rider and/or
parent/guardian for all photographs and electronic images (including moving
images) that may be taken during the event by or on behalf of the Promoter, or
with permission of the Promoter. All such images are the property of the
Promoter and will only be used in accordance with the Motorcycling Australia
Member Protection Policy and for the purposes of promotional or other purposes
without further consent being required.

run an ‘open pits’ regime at this event.
However, please respect that club members with allocated pits get
priority in the centre of the track area.
You may set up pit shades in an open area within the pits. You can drive your vehicle down there to
set up but must remove it before pits are closed (7:15am). Vehicles are then prohibited from pit area
and access road to the pits until racing has ended and the medics have left
site. Alternative pitting can be done
from your vehicle in the carpark.
However, you must walk your bike to and from the start and finish
line.
