Zoo2Zoo

In 2006 twelve friends set out to cycle from Taronga Zoo to the Western Plains Zoo with the simple goal of raising enough money to secure Dubbo a spot on the Charity Edition of Monopoly. Arriving in Dubbo after 420km over three days of cycling, with Dubbo securely on the Monopoly board, the Zoo2Zoo was born.

Not wanting to let a good thing go, the challenge has grown each year with the riders in 2007 raising over $37,000 to purchase vital medical equipment for the Dubbo Base Hospital. In 2008 the Zoo2Zoo went on to raise over $50,000 for the endangered Tasmanian Devils held at Western Plains Zoo.

In 2009 the Zoo2Zoo raised in excess of $30,000 for the Black Dog Institute, a not-for-profit, educational, research, clinical and community-oriented facility offering specialist expertise in depression and bipolar disorder. In 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 we again rode for the Black Dog Institute, raising over $1,000,000 over the years for the great work they do in their field.

In 2018 we will again raise money for the Black Dog Institute.

2018 will see the Canberra to Dubbo ride take place on 9th - 11th March 2018.
It is expected that each participant attempt to raise awareness and funds for the Black Dog Institute using the everydayhero fundraising page.
