Register now for the scream-filled after-dark 5km Creepy Campus Run or meet magical creatures on our twilight 3km Halloweenies Hunt, and help raise funds for vital research.
Event details
Date: Saturday, 28 October 2017 from 5.00pm
Location: Edith Cowan University (Joondalup Campus), 270 Joondalup Drive, Joondalup
Time: Registration tent opens at 5.00pm – collect your registration pack, containing event wristband, loot bag (for 3km participants) and mini torch (for 5km participants)
First wave of Halloweenies Hunters (3km) starts at 6.00pm
First wave of Creepy Campus runners (5km) starts at 7.00pm
Courses
Halloweenies Hunt is 3km. Before the sun goes down, little monsters and their families will enjoy a 3km trick or treat course – without the tricks! They’ll meet magical and mysterious creatures as they head to the finish line, collecting treats along the way.
Recommended for families and children aged 12 and under. Prams and strollers permitted. Complete in less than 45 minutes to be eligible for prizes.
Creepy Campus is 5km. Trust us, you’ll want to run for it through this 5km course filled with strange and deranged characters to terrify you along the way. You’ll get to see some of the best parts of our Joondalup campus...and some of the more eerie.
For ages 13 and over. Complete in less than 1 hour to be eligible for prizes.
Note: Participants in either the 3km or 5km event who are under 15 must be accompanied by an adult who has registered for the event.
Teams
Teams of 4 are eligible to win additional spot prizes, including best costume!
Teams can be any gender mix and must all complete the same 3km or 5km course within the stipulated completion times.
If your team is incomplete (less than 4 members), you will automatically be entered as an individual.
Entering as a team
Select a team captain to create your team (you will need a team name). The team captain can then invite team members to register

Enter individually, with your team name, and request to join!
We recommend that each team member completes their registration around the same time so you can all fit into the same start wave.
Registering as a Family
If you are registering 2 or more members of the same family, select the Family registration option to simplify the registration process.
Family registrations of 4 will automatically qualify as a Team entry (your Team name will be your surname).
Entry prices are the same whether you register as an individual, team or family.

An administration fee of $1.10 per entrant and a 2.75% processing fee applies. Entry fee includes GST. Official entries close at 10.00am on Friday, 27 October 2017.
Waves
You’ll need to select a wave start time during registration. This is to ensure that there aren't too many people on the course at one time. There are a limited number of places per wave, so we recommend you get in early to choose your preferred spot.
Fundraising
Entry fees will go towards the ground-breaking work of ECU’s Melanoma Research team’s work developing blood tests for detecting melanoma, expected to significantly improve diagnosis and treatment.
Spectators
We encourage spectators to join in this community event. Bring your friends and family to cheer and support you at the start and finish lines. There’ll be plenty of fun for everyone when it's over!
Event Photography
ECU reserves the right to make visual and sound recordings in any format
of the event and of any people attending it. These recordings will only
be used for promotional, educational or information purposes.

The important, but less scary parts
Participants in either the 3km or 5km event who are under 15 must be accompanied by an adult who has registered for the event.
Sorry, but this is a non-refundable event. Please refer to the event waiver.
Your entry is not complete until payment has been received.
Wave start times are subject to change. All participants should arrive during registration time to ensure they’re informed of any changes on the day.
Audio and visual effects, including the use of smoke/haze machines, may be used throughout the course. The 5km course may not be suitable for participants with a history of vertigo, epilepsy, seizures, heart disorders and high blood pressure.
Actors may come close to participants, but they’re trained not to touch you. Please show them the same courtesy and do not touch them.
Please don’t touch the props used throughout the course.
Entrants in the the 5km course should keep their torches on at all times. Torches are allocated during registration check-in.
Entrants in the 3km event will receive their own loot bag during registration check-in. Only official Run For It loot bags should be taken on the course. One per entrant.
Sorry, no pets allowed, even as spectators. There’s nothing worse than a spooked spaniel or a jumping jack russell!
