The Childhood Epilepsy Specialist Series Information Sessions are led by a Paediatric Neurologist and Neuropsychologist and designed to address the many questions parents and carers of children with epilepsy may have.

Session One 10am till 1pm

Hear from Prof. Ingrid Scheffer, Paediatric Neurologist at Austin Health and the Royal Children's Hospital about seizures, triggers, diagnosis, treatments and impacts. Brush up on seizure first aid and news about epilepsy surgery.

Session Two 1:30 pm till 3:30pm

Hear from Dr. Silvana Micallef, Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist at the Department of Clinical Neuropsychology, Austin Health about epilepsy and its challenges, cognitive and behavioural impacts and psychosocial and family issues for children (of primary school age and beyond) with epilepsy. Look at the resources available to support families.

Each person experiences epilepsy in different ways depending on the type, frequency, severity and predictability of their seizures.

Register, attend both sessions and join us for a light lunch.
