Join in the excitement of the 15th annual Somerset Rail Trail Fun Run on Sunday, 9 July 2017.

This annual event, an initiative of Somerset Regional Council, is about enjoying the great outdoors with family, friends or work colleagues and most of all, having fun.

The Somerset Rail Trail Fun Run will take place on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail between Lowood and Fernvale while the bicycle leg will take place between Wulkuraka and Fernvale. The running/walking course is an 8km track of disused rail corridor and is ideal for amateurs, professional athletes, and parents with strollers. The bicycle ride will be held from Wulkuraka to Fernvale and is also ideal for amateurs, professional athletes, and families that just want to enjoy a gentle ride along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.

Participants will have the choice of participating in either an 8km or 3km run between Lowood and Fernvale or which allow participants to take in the breathtaking views of the Brisbane Valley, Brisbane River and historic rail trail.

The bicycle ride will allow riders to experience the newly opened Wulkuraka to Fernvale section of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail whilst observing the undisturbed nature strip with native vegetation and bird life on display.
