The MONT 24 Hour Race is our classic festival of MTB and the best way to
spend a weekend of bike loving fun with a few thousand of your best mates. If railing East Kowen’s
fabulous trails right through the night with your friends sounds
appealing, be sure to register a team of four or six riders. Whether you are a first timer or a seasoned XC racer, the
Mont 24 is one of those bucket list events. At its heart the MONT is a
laid back event, so if you don’t take your performances too seriously,
rest assured you won’t be alone.
THE 24 HOURS OF KOW
The Mont 24 Hour Race is a teams only affair (because teams racing is awesome!). You can race in teams of four or six riders in all male, all female or mixed categories. There are age splits for Junior, Open and riders 40 years of age and above (Honest 40s). Juniors are also permitted to ride in teams of 6, so if you wanted to have your son or daughter on your team, it can happen.

You can enter the Mont 24 Hour Mountain Bike Race in one of the following categories

Note: Juniors are also permitted to ride in Open Teams of 6.
YOUNG GUNS (Schools/Junior Teams of 6 Male, Female or Mixed**)
(Between 12 years of age** and under 18 years of age on race day)
* NOTE: Mixed teams of 4 require at least 1 member of the opposite sex and that person will need to ride an average number of laps just like their team mates. Mixed teams of 6 require a minimum of one member of the opposite sex and those people will need to ride an average number of laps just like their team mates.
** Note: Junior riders below 14yrs will be required to demonstrate their race experience. If the rider has a coach or is a club member, then a letter from the coach or club should also be submitted. Junior riders below 14yrs may also be limited to what laps they are allowed to ride. Some examples might be: cannot ride the first lap of the race, cannot ride night laps, or cannot ride a night lap until they have ridden a day lap, may only do two laps in any 6 hour period, etc. A parent is required to sign the event waiver on behalf of the Junior rider.
