The Spit to the Zoo Race is the 6th race of the 2016 PNSW Harbour Series for Surf Skis, Spec Skis, SUPs, Outrigger Canoes & Sea Kayaks.

This event is organised by the PNSW Open Water Committee.
This event is hosted by Middle Harbour Yacht Club and is located at Lower Parriwi Road, The Spit, Mosman, NSW 2088 (across from Clontarf Beach).

Event Distances: Long Course = approx 16 km. Short Course = approx 8 km.

This race is located and will be run entirely within Sydney Harbour / Port Jackson. The Long Course passes Middle Head. As a result of some weather patterns, a sizeable swell can build and affect waters around Middle Head, with reflected waves and rebound being experienced. Please ensure that if doing the Long Course you are capable of handling the conditions on the day. If in any doubt as to your abilities in such conditions, we recommend you compete in the Short Course, which remains within Middle Harbour and does not extend seawards further than Grotto Point
. In the case of extreme weather we have a sheltered alternative course. Please ensure you check the weather and forecasts before starting the event to be sure your ability and equipment is suited to the conditions anticipated on the day.

Note: Sea Kayaks & SUP are to enter 10km short course ONLY.
ALL paddlers are to have a LEG LEASH available to be worn at the discretion of the Race Director on the day.
All SUP Paddlers are to wear a LEG LEASH.

All paddlers must wear a Level 50 LIFEJACKET.
No inflatable Lifejackets are to be worn for this event.
