100% of profits from the event will be donated  to support critical care services at The Alfred hospital.

The Alfred is a leader in healthcare, medical research and clinical education both nationally and internationally.

Emergency and trauma care has been a focus of The Alfred for over a century, and instrumental in the evolution of a world standard trauma service.

The Alfred treats approximately half a million patients every year, and 60,000 people come through the doors of our Emergency and Trauma Centre.

In just two hours, The Alfred’s critical care team treat 20 people presenting with chest pain and another five people who are seriously injured.

With support from the community, The Alfred offers one of the best healthcare services in Australia. We are now seeing more trauma patients than ever before. Thanks to generous contributions from many, a new Emergency & Trauma Centre is going to be built.

Here will be an increased number of private cubicles for patients to be assessed and treated and additional equipment to allow for faster diagnostics.

With funds raised by the 2016 Alfred 6 Hour we would like to purchase a high resolution x-ray monitor for emergency and trauma patients. This state-of-the-art machine gives doctors and nurses more detailed and accurate images of potential internal injuries. As it can provide a much higher resolution than the current technology, the treating doctors can see greater definition and detail which will help them to have better diagnostic capabilities to find out what’s wrong and therefore earlier intervention. Having the best equipment helps The Alfred to provide life-saving treatment to seriously injured patients, giving them the best chance to get better and go home to their loved ones.

The target for this year’s Alfred 6 Hour is $15,600. This amount will allow us to purchase this life-saving piece of equipment to be used in the new Emergency & Trauma Centre which our previous events helped fund.

Thank you for your support!
