Welcome to registration for the 6th Barron River Challenge to be held on the 7th/8th of May 2016.
Online registration will close on 5th May, 2016 at 11.59 pm. You must have made the online registration deadline to be eligible for random prizes. You will still be able to register for the event at scrutineering on Saturday 7th May at the southern end of Centenary Park (near Fire station) between 9 am and 11 am.
Entry Information
BRC12 Junior Competitors must be between the ages of 14 -17 years as at the 01/01/2016
Entry - $15.00 per person
Doubles - $30 per pair paid in the one transaction
Random prizes only
Note: Any paddler under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Any junior (17 and under) paddling with an adult will be in the BRC12 Open category.
BRC12 Open Competitors must be 18 years of age or older as at the 01/01/2016
Entry Fee - QC/AC Member $15.00 , Non-member $20.00
Doubles - QC/AC Member $30.00, Non-member $40.00, per pair paid in the one transaction
Random prizes only
BRC50 Competitors must be 18 years of age or older as at the 01/01/2016
Entry Fee - QC/AC Member $55.00 , Non-member $65.00
Doubles - QC/AC Member $110.00, Non-member $130.00, per pair paid in the one transaction
Prize money will be available in the BRC50 in the following classes, regardless of the age category:
Winning craft - $200.00
Solo Male and Female – 1st $250.00, 2nd $100.00
Double – 1st $300.00, 2nd $150.00
TC2 – 1st $300.00, 2nd $150.00

Note: The BRC touring classes and age categories are aligned as closely as possible to the Australian Canoeing Marathon Racing Rules. Our unique race caters for all types and construction of paddling craft and reflects the evolution within the sport of downriver paddling. Ages are calculated as at the 1st of January in the year of the event for all competitors in accordance with Section 3.3a of the Australian Canoeing Marathon Racing Rules.
