2016 TOUR OF JARRAHDALE – MEDIO & PICCOLO FONDO
Sunday 10th January 2016
Introduction
With the Piccolo distanced at 40 km and the Medio at 80 km – this is a Ride event that would help you wash off the excess of Christmas and New Year as well as ensure that those of you with the continued focus will stay fit and ready for the whole summer season of cycling ahead.
The Tour of Jarrahdale is also our developmental ride event towards our signature event – the City of Armadale Grand Fondo which is on the 15th May 2016. It is the start of the cycling touring season also for Perth Integrated Health Cycling Group and also for other event organisers.
Riding events in Perth are few and far between in the summer months and we aim to make a difference by providing such middle distance events so that
Tour of Gracetown 19th March 2016
Bridges Night Ride 8th April 2016
Tour of Toodyay June 2016
City of Armadale Grand Fondo May 2015
So get a group of friends and sign up for the Tour of Jarrahdale Medio & Piccolo Fondo
Special Fund Raising
We have decide to take a different direction with our fund raising venture for this particular event. We are fund raising for a brave and plucky individual who is going through a few years of intensive chemotherapy while her husband who is a fire fighter recovers from a heart operation which has required a pace maker.
The Hart Family is who we are fund raising for and in support of Gena and Saul Hart and their children. A normal balanced Australian family with three kids who is in need of a au-pair that can see to the needs of the children while the parents go through the phase of recover and rehabilitation.
The option part of this event will go directly towards the Hart Family for the appointment of an au pair for a YEAR so please give generously.
Let’s do something for someone local and Australian for a change as this is right at our doorstep and can happen to any of us.
Donations in the denominations of $20, $50, $80 and $100 are available if you or your company wish to donate directly please contact Ian Wee via: ianwee@pihc.com.au

Rider Requirements
Visible attire as you will be riding in open traffic. PIHCG riders please wear your PIHCG cycling kit. Visible colours excludes Black, Dark Blue, Dark Red and Brown. This ride is about safety and we will enforce this Safety on the Road message.
- Front and rear lights on strobe. Even though we can see other vehicles and pedestrians they may not see us and because we are on open roads our visual imprint is enlarged and risks diminished because of these lights.
- Two water bottles compulsory for this Ride – we will provide Torq Hydration powder during the journey and at the rest stops but it is up to riders to provide their own hydration powder at the start of the event.
- Repair kit and please check the condition of your tyres.
- Bike Useability. It is a standard procedure that all bikes for this event must be road worthy and must have working brakes and gearing. We reserve the right to inspect bikes at the start point and those who have bikes which will pose a danger to themselves or others in their group will be prevented from participating.
- Bikes. Only road bikes and hybrids are permitted for this road event. No exceptions.
- Team Captain and Tail End Charlie. All riders must ride within their seeded team with the Team Captain in the lead and no rider must fall behind their designated Tail End Charlie. If they fall back because they are unable to keep the pace, they will be asked to then join another team with an equivalent pace. This means that you have to choose your Team speed carefully and be realistic to avoid any issues for the others on your team on route. The Event Director and his management team have the ride to place riders in appropriate teams should they determine an emerging issue on route.
- Helmets – only Australian standard issue helmets are permitted on PIHCG rides. If you choose to wear a non-Australian standard helmet you will invalidate your ride insurance and in the event of an incident or accident you will not be covered and you might be also be liable for damages. This is another safety standard which we are encouraging in the cycling community.
- Bring cash / money/ EFTOS to purchase your own drinks and food at the breakfast stop in Jarrahdale
- Mobile Phone. All riders must carry their mobile phone and the number of this phone must be the one recorded at the time of their registration.
Please note that we are unable to cater for riders for the Medio Fondo below 22 km/h due to time and traffic constraints. Riders for the Piccolo Fondo are expected to be able to ride at least 18 km/h over a 20 km distance.
