On Sunday 8 November, Willoughby City Council will hold their fifth community fun run. Starting and finishing at the Willoughby Leisure Centre, the 1.5km, 5km and 10km events all take advantage of the picturesque back drop of Bicentennial Reserve. The Willoughby Fun Run is a family focused event where everyone can participate.

The Willoughby Fun Run has established itself as a community event promoting fun, fitness and a healthy lifestyle, while at the same time helping a charity raise much needed funds. The event has enough participants to create a great atmosphere without having to deal with huge crowds on course, at registration and while parking.

Willoughby Fun Run details:

1.5km Kids Fun Run & Primary School Challenge

The 1.5km Course will be run in three waves, dependent on the age of your child on the date of the Fun Run:

  • 7.45am: 10 to 13 years
  • 7.50am: 7 to 9 years
  • 7.55am: 6 years and under and children running with an ‘Accompany Adult’

Note: By entering as an ‘accompanying adult’ you will be assigned a race bib, which must be worn and visible on race day in order to enter the race assembly area. As an ‘Accompany Adult’ you will not be competing for any prizes and therefore your time will not be calculated.

Following the success of the Primary School Challenge in 2014 with 100 competitors and 26 school taking part, we are pleased to announce the Primary School Challenge is on again! Get a group of your school friends together to run the 1.5km course. Primary Schools who have three or more competitors in the 1.5km Kids Fun Run will automatically be entered into the Primary School Challenge.

Trophies will be awarded to:

  • Top school, for fundraising
  • Top school, for overall entries
  • Top school, with the three fastest runners

Medals will be award to the fastest overall runner in each wave for both boys and girls.
