New research by Bond University in Australia has found an easily taught technique known as ‘psychological acupuncture’ to be effective in reducing food cravings and anxiety symptoms.

Psychological acupuncture – also known as Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) – involves using two fingers to tap rapidly on specific acupressure points on the face and body while focusing on a specific problem or issue.

Dr Peta Stapleton who is leading the research is now calling for participants to be involved in a FREE online treatment program for food cravings, using EFT. You will access the videos online for 8 weeks and be asked to use the technique after watching the video/s. You will also need to complete a survey before you start, after you finish and 6- and 12-months later.

If you are an adult over 18 years, are overweight or obese (body mass index over 25), have food cravings every day or emotional eating and have email / internet access, you are eligible for this FREE trial. You must also refrain from engaging in any other weight loss program for the 8 weeks of the trial.

It will start in August 2015.
