Event: Driving the diversity agenda

Join us to learn how Australia’s corporate and government sectors are driving, embracing and promoting diversity – and why.

Many Australian industries are grappling with the need to promote diversity in recognition that it is a key driver of organisational success and competitiveness. Part of this is initiating a dialogue and creating greater awareness around workforce diversity and inclusion.

There is still much work to be done to build and demonstrate the value of Australian workforce diversity and the communication profession is not immune.

Our nation's newsrooms, corporate and government organisations and boards are among the places which need and seek continued change.

Hear from professionals who are putting diversity on the communications agenda.

Our guest speakers will cover:
  • the current state of diversity in Australian organisations
  • how the communications function can support diversity
  • initiatives to boost employee engagement and inclusiveness across the business including ANZ’s Notable Women project and Australia Post’s work in the area
  • the key barriers to embracing diversity - unconscious bias, stereotyping and importance of role models
  • engaging cultural and linguistically diverse audiences and the impact of delivering communications in multiple languages
  • The importance of encouraging conversation and debate amongst employees about diversity and inclusion
