This year the Cottesloe to Swanbourne Ocean Classic Swim Thru
will be held on Saturday 31st January 2015.
Please note the date for the Swanny Swim Thru in the
HBF Open Water Swims 2014/15 Calendar pdf version is incorrect.
(The Masters Swimming WA website has been updated to show the correct date.)
Unfortunately there was a clash with a triathlon at Cottesloe Beach on the 7th February which was our preferred date. So we have changed the date to a week earlier on Saturday 31st January 2015.
Regular swimmwers please note the change of date.

Race Information
SWIM / STAND UP PADDLE COURSE Water start in line with pylon at Cottesloe Beach, swim north to Swanbourne Beach, round buoy and finish up the beach between two flags. 2200 metres. The swim race this year will start in 3 waves, please nominate an expected approximate time to complete the swim when filling out entry form to allow for appropriate categorising.
RUN COURSE Start from outside Indiana's Tea Rooms, in line with Cottesloe Pylon north to Swanbourne Beach, finishing through the inflatable arch. 2000 metres.
ENTRY

Entries will be charged a late entry fee on the day of the event of $5. Late Entries are permitted on the day but we would much prefer if you register online prior!
RACE DAY REGISTRATION
From 7.00am until 7.45am in front of the Cottesloe Pylon. All swimmers, paddlers and runners MUST register on the day.
SAFETY
The entire swim course will be patrolled by the Swanbourne Nedlands Surf Life Saving Club. Lifesavers shall have the ultimate and final authority to remove a swimmer / paddler from the water if they are judged to be incapable of finishing the swim / paddle without the risk of injury.
MARSHALLING
All competitors will be called to a race briefing at 7.30am in front of the Cottesloe Beach Pylon. Immediately following this briefing, paddlers will be asked to proceed to the water for a 7.45am start. Swimmers will be asked to to be ready for the start at 8.00am.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories;
• Overall Fastest Male
• Overall Fastest Female
• 1st, 2nd & 3rd Closest to Nominated Time
• Fastest Male & Female in each age group
Under 18 years 18 to 29 years
30 to 39 years 40 to 49 years
50 to 59 years 60 to 69 years
Over 70 years PLUS spot prizes!
This event is open to all swimmers.
No watches or heavy jewellery to be worn.
Wetsuits may be worn but wearers will not be eligible for fastest time prizes.
Late entrants will not be eligible to win prizes.
STAND UP PADDLE PRIZES
Prizes will be confirmed closer to the date!
RUN PRIZES
$100 cash for first female/male across the line
BREAKFAST
Available from Swanbourne Nedlands SLSC courtyard, boatshed area. Delightful bacon and egg rolls from the BBQ!

Will be available at the finish and ready to pick up for those who pre-order. Please pick up on the day! These shirts always sell out so be sure to order your favoured size on the online entry form!
