The 20 Beaches Ocean Classic is Australia's oldest downwind ocean
paddling race which takes place from Palm Beach NSW to Freshwater Beach NSW or vice versa for
ocean racing skis, SLSA skis, OC's and SUP's. This is a gruelling race and experience in the ocean is mandatory. Do
not enter this race if you are not experienced in open water paddling.
This event is only open to competitors 15 years or older.
This race is the 2015 Australian Canoeing National Ocean Racing Championships.
This race is also Selection event No.2 of the 2015 Australian Ocean Racing Team to compete at the ICF World Surfski Championship to be held in Tahiti between 2nd - 4th October 2015.

In line with AC competition rules your age calculation date is 31 Dec 2014.
ie. The oldest age you turn in 2014
You also must have turned 15 by 30th September 2014 in accordance to SLSA rules.

The ski & OC race distance is 25km
The SUP race distances are 10km or 25km
The 10km SUP race is a non championship event and will finish at either Mona Vale Basin or Fishermans Beach Collaroy. This is a SUP event only- skis and OC's cannot enter.
The course direction will be decided by the race director on the evening prior to the event. Race briefing is compulsory due to the many variances in the course.
All paddlers on all craft must wear a PFD Level 50, a leg leash and carry a pealess whistle.
You will be disqualified if you do not comply with these rules.
It is recommended that paddlers carry an orange smoke flare but this is not compulsory.
All participants under the age of 18 years must have parental permission.
