The Lion Island Challenge is an ocean paddling race for ocean racing skis, SLSA skis, OC's, paddleboards and SUPs which starts and finishes on the Pittwater side of Palm Beach in NSW. 
This is a challenging course and experience in open water is a must.

The ski and OC race distance is 14 km.  There is the option to do 8km ski race for inexperienced paddlers but this is not age or gender specific. 
The paddleboard race has two sections. A 6km race to the island and return for racing mals and an 8 km race around Lion Island for 12 footers, unlimited boards and SUP's.
The course direction will be decided by the race director on the day depending on conditions.

All ski and OC paddlers must wear a PFD Type 2 or 3. A leg leash may also be required if instructed by race organisers.
All SUP and board paddlers must wear a  high visibility fluoro rash vest. Acceptable colours are: Pink, Yellow, Green, Orange or Red. These will not be supplied at the event. A leg leash is also compulsory.
All participants under the age of 18 years must have parental permission.
You will not be able to compete on the day if you do not comply with these rules.
