Henrietta Creek picnic area: picnic and camping area with BBQ, tables, bins and a swimming hole for you to enjoy.  Located approximately 35klms up the Palmerston Highway from Innisfail.

Event:  Charity/training ride with all funds raised going to the Cancer Council.

Fitness:  You will need a reasonable level of fitness to complete the short course.  An average rider will make the main rest point at South Johnstone camp within an hour.
Only experienced riders should attempt the long course, it will take between 5 and 6 hours to complete including rest stops.

Courses:
Both courses (long and short) will begin and finish at Henrietta Creek picnic area.  The start will be a controlled decent approximately 3klm down the highway to the K-Tree road start of the Misty Mountain track.  Both groups will then ride their way through the beautiful Misty Mountains towards South Johnstone camp where the groups will part company – the Short course riders will continue on to South Johnstone Camp for a relaxing swim, a drink and snack before making their way back to Henrietta Creek picnic area.

The long course riders, you will turn (right) before SJ Camp, up Bora Ground Road where there will be a 10 minute rest and a Tim Tam at the top.  With renewed energy you will turn left on West Palmerston Road and ride the rolling hills, across the bridge and through the weeds to Maalan Road.  A left turn here and there’s about 5klm of climbing bitumen before your next rest stop at Sutties Gap Road.  Grab a banana and then back on the dirt along Sutties Gap Road.  OK, now the hills really start (better grab 2 bananas), and it’s a great ride to SJ Camp.  Another break here and there’s only 12klm of dirt left to go!

What to bring:  All riders will need to be self-sufficient and carry spare tubes, pumps and enough water, particularly for the long course riders.
$5 for your day licence.  Do not forget, no licence – no ride.

Course Markings: The course will be marked at intersections with directional arrows.  The FN Quad Riders have kindly agreed to support us as well.  Marshalls may also be present.

Traffic:  Riders must give way to traffic on all roads, bitumen and dirt.  Warning signs to traffic will be posted on the trail and the highway letting vehicles know you are around.
