11:00 am   -    Family Ride

Registration begins at 8am, the briefing for each ride will be 10 minutes before its start time.

First departure is at 9am.  Tinderbox riders should start finishing from about 1 pm, while the longer Channel riders finish between about 2 pm and 5 pm.

A briefing before the ride gives route directions and reminders that we are riding on public roads and subject to all normal road rules. Each rider receives a map and instructions. A number of directional signs mark the routes. The roads are not closed to cars, but most roads have either little traffic or wide shoulders. Great care is needed crossing the major roads in a couple of places.

Our police permit will require every rider to have a rear red flashing light which must be turned on in the event of inclement weather.

For safety reasons the rides may be cancelled if weather conditions are very poor (thick fog and/or strong winds and/or heavy rain.) On the evening and early morning prior to the event, the go-ahead status will be displayed on the Bicycle Tasmania website: www.biketas.org.au.

If you have enjoyed these rides you may be interested in joining us on another, if so please check the Bicycle Tasmania Rides Calendar on our website www.biketas.org.au. There are rides of distances to suit everyone, all in a supportive and social atmosphere.

Please advise Bicycle Tasmania at Dru Point on 0438 200 478 or wait for the sweep if you are unable to finish the ride.
